The Association of Former Comrades of the 176th Regiment held a traditional reunion.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of March 15th, at the meeting hall of the Nghe An Provincial Military Command, the Association of Former Comrades of Regiment 176 held a traditional reunion for the Spring of the Year of the Goat 2015.
Attending the meeting were Lieutenant General Pham Van Long - former member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy Head of the General Political Department, former leading officer of the regiment; Colonel Ha Tan Tien - Standing Committee member, Commander of the Provincial Military Command; the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association of Nghe An province; and generations of leading officers, commanders, and officers and soldiers of the regiment in the areas of Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, and Ha Tinh provinces…

The 176th Regiment was established in March 1973 in Laos, its predecessors being the main battalions of the Nghe An and Ha Tinh Provincial Military Commands and other provinces in Military Region 4. Over 42 years of fighting, building, and development, the regiment has achieved many glorious victories and has been awarded the title of Heroic Unit of the People's Armed Forces by the Party and State. Many officers and soldiers of the regiment have grown into accomplished generals, politicians, and entrepreneurs, making significant contributions to society. Currently, the 176th Regiment is part of the 968th Division, Military Region 4.
To open the meeting, the delegation of Lao students studying at Vinh University and their former comrades presented special artistic performances praising the Party, President Ho Chi Minh, the army, and the fraternal friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.

Former comrades of the Regiment from various periods reminisced about the glorious traditions, the arduous and fierce years of fighting, the noble international missions in Laos, and the period after their return home. They also contributed ideas, pointed out achievements and shortcomings, and agreed on the direction of the Association's activities in the coming time. This included focusing on linking former Regiment 176 comrades' associations nationwide; revisiting former battlefields; visiting and encouraging members in difficult circumstances, addressing post-war military support policies; and fostering camaraderie to continue motivating and supporting each other in life today…
At the meeting, Colonel Ha Tan Tien delivered a congratulatory speech and presented flowers and gifts to the Association of Former Comrades of Regiment 176.
