Nghe An Association in Taiwan donates to support flood victims
(Baonghean.vn) - On November 6, Nghe An Association,Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang TriIn Taiwan, people simultaneously launched a fundraising campaign to support people affected by floods in their homeland.
From 8am, nearly 100 volunteers from 4 hometown associations of Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri in red shirts with yellow stars and Vietnamese conical hats gathered at many designated meeting points in Taipei, Taichung, and Tainan, ready to perform their duties.

Like previous events, the volunteers participating in this fundraising campaign were mainly workers, taking advantage of their Sunday off to do charity work. Many people lived more than 100 km away from the city center, taking several hours by train to get to the gathering point, but still enthusiastically participated.
The form of mobilization is by holding donation boxes with pictures of floods in the Central region, mobilizing passersby at major train stations, bus stations, parks, restaurants, etc. Mr. Tran Sy Hoa, Chairman of the Nghe An Association in Taiwan said: "Many people participate in volunteering during the day because they still have to work at night. Although it is quite hard, everyone is happy and tries to contribute their efforts to share the difficulties with their homeland."
Not only Vietnamese people but also many locals and workers from countries such as Thailand, Indonesia, etc. present in Taiwan are also willing to contribute money to support the people of Central Vietnam. Participating in the fundraising campaign in the Tainan area, Mr. Ho Viet Thuong shared: "This fundraising movement has the cooperation of many young people, with more than 50 people in the Tainan area alone, the strongest ever."

By 5:00 p.m. the same day, four fellow countrymen associations in all three regions of Taiwan had raised 301,075 NT dollars (equivalent to 214 million VND).
The organizers said that they will continue to raise donations on the next two Sundays as planned. After that, the amount of money raised (estimated to be about 600 million VND) will be allocated to support each province. The Associations will directly give these gifts to people affected by floods in their hometowns.
