Scientific council will evaluate the state of President Ho Chi Minh's body
The council, consisting of Vietnamese and Russian scientists, is tasked with assessing the current state of President Ho Chi Minh's body and proposing solutions for preservation.
On June 17, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc decided to establish a state-level medical science council to assess the condition of President Ho Chi Minh's body after 50 years of preservation and visitation. The council includes Vietnamese and Russian scientists.

After assessing the current situation in July, the council proposed scientific and technical solutions to "long-term preserve and absolutely protect the safety of President Ho Chi Minh's body in the coming years".
The Chairman of the Council on the Vietnamese side is Professor Dang Vu Minh, Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, Chairman of the State-level Scientific Council on preservation, long-term preservation, and absolute safety protection of President Ho Chi Minh's body for the 2018-2023 term.
Members include: Lieutenant General, Professor Do Quyet, Director of the Military Medical Academy; Professor Ta Van Thanh - Rector of Hanoi Medical University; Colonel Vu Van Binh - former Deputy Commander of the Command to Protect President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum; Major General, Professor Vu Duc Moi - former Deputy Director of the Military Medical Academy; Colonel Bui Hai Son, Commander of the Command to Protect President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum; Colonel Vu Van Van - Director of Institute 69, Command to Protect President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum.
Four Russian scientists participated in the council, chaired by Professor, Corresponding Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Banin Victor Vasilievich, Head of the Department of Morphology, Moscow State Medical University.
On September 2, 1969, President Ho Chi Minh passed away. In November 1969, the Politburo decided to preserve President Ho's body and build a mausoleum.
The mausoleum began construction in September 1973, and President Ho Chi Minh's body was brought in in July 1975. One month later, the mausoleum was accepted and inaugurated.
