Nghe An Province Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs: Continuing to strengthen education and raise awareness about honoring martyrs and the principle of "Drinking water, remembering the source."
On the afternoon of January 16th, the Nghe An Provincial Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs held a conference to summarize its work in honoring martyrs in 2025 and to plan tasks for 2026. At the conference, participants suggested that the Association should further enhance its efforts in disseminating information and educating the public about honoring martyrs and the principle of "remembering the source when drinking water" (a Vietnamese idiom meaning "drinking water and remembering the source").
Attending the conference were Lieutenant General Tran Tan Hung – Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs; Ms. Tran Thi Thu Huong – Vice Chairman of the Provincial Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; and Mr. Ho Duc Thanh – Chairman of the Provincial Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs.
Also attending were representatives from provincial departments, agencies, and units; communes and wards; and partner businesses.

In 2025, the Provincial Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs will organize two important events: "Meeting to express gratitude and present gifts."Heroic Vietnamese Motherand exemplary relatives of martyrs” on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the Day of War Invalids and Martyrs (July 27, 1947 – July 27, 2025), and""Meeting to express gratitude and present gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers," on the occasion of the 81st anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army. These events contribute to educating about patriotic traditions, the principle of "drinking water, remembering the source," and spreading a message of profound gratitude.
Over the past year, the Association continued to effectively support the transportation, escorting, and attendance at memorial services and burials of martyrs, welcoming and attending the memorial services and burials of 76 remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Laos back to Vietnam; and assisting in the transportation, escorting, and burial of 20 remains of martyrs from battlefields back to their localities.

The total amount of money raised by the Association exceeded 3 billion VND. This money was used to support the construction of 39 houses for needy families, tặng 19 savings accounts; support the upgrading of a Martyrs' Cemetery (Thanh Binh Tho Commune Cemetery) and tặng many gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and relatives of martyrs in the province…
In implementing its tasks for 2026, the Provincial Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs has identified the following goals: Continuing to diversify forms of mobilization and support, being more proactive in searching for the remains of martyrs, organizing their repatriation and burial in their hometowns; supporting and advising families of martyrs on unresolved policy issues; actively calling on and mobilizing businesses to donate money to fund activities honoring martyrs, striving to reach over 2 billion VND…

Speaking at the conference, Lieutenant General Tran Tan Hung – Standing Vice ChairmanAssociation for Supporting Families of MartyrsVietnam noted that the Provincial Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs should continue to pay more attention to the restoration of memorial monuments at martyrs' cemeteries and continue to mobilize businesses to participate in the work of honoring martyrs.
In her remarks at the conference, Ms. Tran Thi Thu Huong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, acknowledged the achievements of the Provincial Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs over the past year. She also noted that in the coming period, the Association needs to actively coordinate with relevant agencies to widely disseminate information to all segments of the population, raising awareness of gratitude towards martyrs and the national tradition of "drinking water, remembering the source"; and to collect, process, and provide information on the search for the remains of martyrs through organizations, individuals, and mass media.

On this occasion, 8 collectives and 3 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Vietnam Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs; 6 individuals received Certificates of Honor and 21 individuals received Commemorative Medals for their contributions to honoring martyrs.
