Vietnam - UK Friendship Association of Nghe An province held the 3rd Congress of Delegates, term 2024 - 2029
(Baonghean.vn) - The 3rd Congress of the Vietnam - UK Friendship Association of Nghe An province, term 2024 - 2029, elected an Executive Committee of 23 members, including 1 president, 3 vice presidents, and 1 general secretary of the association. The Congress also determined specific directions and tasks, focusing on improving English learning among the people.
On the morning of March 30, the Vietnam - UK Friendship Association of Nghe An province held the 3rd Congress of delegates for the 2024 - 2029 term to review and evaluate the results of the 2nd term, 2013 - 2024 term, set out directions, tasks and elect the executive committee for the new term 2024 - 2029.
Established 6 new branches
In the 2013-2024 term, after 9 years of operation, the Vietnam - UK Friendship Association of Nghe An province has closely followed the policy of multilateralization and diversification of diplomacy, considering people-to-people diplomacy as one of the three important diplomatic fronts of the Party, State and the direction of the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee on foreign affairs to implement many specific and practical programs and activities.
An important highlight during the term is that the association has focused on building the organization by establishing 6 more branches, bringing the total number of branches to 18. In addition to the Vietnamese-English branches in schools and English centers, there are currently branches in a number of provincial departments, branches, and businesses. Along with organizational development, the association has paid attention to gathering, attracting, and recruiting members, bringing the total number of members to nearly 300.
The Vietnam - UK Friendship Association of Nghe An province focuses on promoting, mobilizing, and building solidarity and friendship between the two nations. In particular, the association and its branches strengthen the organization of exchange activities between English clubs in the province and English speaking exchanges with native speakers, in order to promote the image, people, and homeland of Nghe An and between the two countries of Vietnam and the United Kingdom, contributing to improving the quality, inspiring, and spreading the teaching and learning of English for students in the province.
Strengthening connections, contributing to the overall development of the province
The Congress discussed and proposed directions and tasks for the 2024-2029 term. The Vietnam-UK Friendship Association of the province continues to closely follow the guidelines and policies of the Party and State on people's foreign affairs in the spirit of Directive No. 38, dated September 19, 2019 of the Central Secretariat "On continuing to innovate, promote the role and improve the quality and effectiveness of the activities of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations in the new situation" and the plan of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee on implementing Directive No. 38 of the Central Secretariat to make the association's activities rich, diverse and effective.
The focus is on organizing propaganda, mobilizing and promoting the country and people of the United Kingdom, thereby arousing the spirit of learning English among Nghe An people.
Strengthening connections and exploiting resources to maximize internal and external resources, connecting with non-governmental organizations (NGOs), businesses, and philanthropists inside and outside the province and abroad to mobilize resources, contributing to the socio-economic development of the province and developing the association fund.
Continue to take care of building and consolidating the Vietnam - UK Friendship Association to be strong and comprehensive in the spirit of "Solidarity, democracy, proactiveness, creativity, and efficiency".
Speaking at the Congress, Mr. Nguyen Hong Ky - Permanent Vice President of the Union of Friendship Organizations of Nghe An province acknowledged the contributions of the Vietnam - UK Friendship Association, term II, in the field of foreign information; developing and improving the quality of English training for students of all ages in the province.
The Standing Vice President of the Nghe An Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations also emphasized a number of contents that the Vietnam - UK Friendship Association, Term III, needs to focus on. In particular, focusing on building foreign affairs activities associated with Nghe An's economic development according to Resolution No. 39 of the Politburo on building and developing Nghe An province until 2030, with a vision to 2045.
Strengthen coordination with agencies and organizations to promote and introduce the potential, products, culture and people of Nghe An to the UK; connect organizations and Vietnamese people, especially Nghe An people in the UK to mobilize and seek support from non-governmental organizations, organizations and individuals, and attract support sources to promote the socio-economic development of the province.

Mr. Nguyen Quy Linh - Director of Nghe An Department of Science and Technology was elected as Chairman of the Vietnam - UK Friendship Association of Nghe An province, term III, 2024 - 2029.
