Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association of Nghe An province held the Congress for the term 2022-2027
(Baonghean.vn) - In the 2022-2027 term, the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association of Nghe An province identified actively exploiting resources as the most important task. Accordingly, it will promote attracting funding from small projects of the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam, and closely cooperate with Japanese partners to mobilize non-governmental humanitarian aid.
On the afternoon of June 26, the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association of Nghe An province held the 3rd Congress, term 2022-2027.
Attending the Congress were members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Nguyen Nam Dinh - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations; Le Hong Vinh - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

The Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association of Nghe An province was established on September 30, 2008, in the context of the Vietnam - Japan cooperative and friendly relationship being on the rise and being a "Strategic Partner for Peace and Prosperity in Asia".
The Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association of Nghe An province has played a good role as a bridge for Japanese partners to cooperate with Nghe An. In particular, the Association has established long-term, regular relationships with 5 Japanese organizations and individuals. Through these partners, Nghe An province has received timely and valuable support from Japan in many different fields.

Exchange activities between Nghe An people and Japan have been quite active, through studying abroad, tourism, activities of non-governmental organizations, youth and student exchange programs, etc. Most notably, on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan in 2018, the Association coordinated with the Asaba Association of Fukuroi City and the Japan Cultural Exchange Center in Vietnam to successfully organize the "Japan Cultural Week" in Nghe An.
Through this, the Association has mobilized a relatively large amount of aid. The Japanese Embassy provided non-refundable funding for 4 projects, each project including the construction of 4 solid classrooms and fully equipped desks and chairs for students, teachers, and blackboards at 4 primary schools in Do Luong and Nghi Loc districts, with a total cost of nearly 8 billion VND. The non-profit organization International Small donated a used small rescue ship worth nearly 2 billion VND.
During its term, the Association widely published 3 bilingual publications (Vietnamese and Japanese) introducing and promoting the image of Nghe An country and people to Japanese friends, as well as the Vietnam - Japan friendship.

Speaking at the Congress, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Nam Dinh praised and acknowledged the positive results that the Association has achieved in developing the relationship between Nghe An and Japan. In the new term, comrade Nguyen Nam Dinh suggested that the Association promote the achieved results, be proactive, flexible and creative in people's foreign affairs; constantly innovate the content and form in the field of foreign information. In particular, the Association needs to promote its role as a bridge between Nghe An and Japan in areas such as trade, labor export, study abroad, and tourism. On the province's side, it will regularly monitor and support all activities of the Association, contributing to strengthening the tradition of cooperation between Vietnam and Japan in general, Nghe An and Japan in particular.

In the 2022-2027 term, the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association of Nghe An province identified actively exploiting resources as the most important task. Accordingly, it will promote attracting funding from small projects of the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam, closely cooperate with Japanese partners to mobilize non-governmental humanitarian aid. In addition, the Association will continue to strengthen and improve the effectiveness of traditional relationships, actively build new partners, and become a bridge for Japanese organizations and enterprises to cooperate with organizations and enterprises of Nghe An.

At the congress, the Provincial People's Committee presented a banner to the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association of Nghe An province. The front banner bears the words: "Proactive, Flexible, Cooperating, Developing". The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee presented Certificates of Merit to 2 individuals, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee presented Certificates of Merit to 3 individuals for their outstanding achievements in people's foreign affairs. The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations presented a Commemorative Medal to 1 individual for peace and friendship among nations.
The Congress elected 22 members of the Executive Committee for the 2022-2027 term. Comrade Hoang Phu Hien - Director of the Department of Transport, member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee was elected as Chairman of the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association of Nghe An province for the 2022-2027 term.
