Over the years, the two countries' armies have developed good cooperative relations in many fields. This is demonstrated by the fact that the two countries' high-ranking military leaders have made many visits, exchanged experiences, and learned from each other, especially in political cooperation. For example, over the past years, China has sent 8 delegations to Vietnam and Vietnam has sent 14 delegations to China to exchange and learn from each other.

Speaking at the meeting, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Cung thanked the leaders of the Chinese Ministry of National Defense and the General Political Department of the Chinese People's Liberation Army for creating favorable conditions for the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense delegation to learn, exchange and study experiences on judicial work in the Chinese army; thereby serving as a basis for research and application to the practice of judicial reform of the Vietnam People's Army.

Regarding the cooperation between the two countries' armies, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Cung affirmed that building, maintaining and developing a good and sustainable friendship with China is the consistent policy of the Party, Government and Vietnam People's Army; and at the same time, it is the aspiration of all Vietnamese people. Vietnam always remembers and is grateful for China's great support for the Vietnamese revolution in the two resistance wars for national independence and reunification.

In recent times, the two countries' Ministries of Defense have expanded and deepened their cooperation activities, bringing about practical results. In June 2013, the two countries' Ministries of Defense signed two important documents: the Border Cooperation Agreement and the Agreement on the Construction of a Direct Telephone Line. The two sides have also established and effectively implemented many cooperation mechanisms such as the Defense Strategic Dialogue Mechanism, the Joint Patrol Mechanism in the Gulf of Tonkin between the two navies, the Joint Patrol Mechanism along the border, the Young Officer Exchange Mechanism, and the Resort Delegation.

In the coming time, the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense hopes that the two countries' Ministries of National Defense will have more exchanges and experiences; further enhance understanding, close ties, effectiveness and commensurate with the comprehensive strategic partnership and cooperation relationship, worthy of the 16 words and the motto of 4 goods./.
