This is news from the Criminal Investigation Department (PC52) of Binh Duong Province Police, saying that they are temporarily detaining and completing procedures to hand over the especially dangerous wanted suspect Nguyen Van Hien (32 years old, from Ha Tinh) to PC52 of Ha Tinh Police.
Notably, when being escorted to the police station by PC52 detectives of Binh Duong Province Police, Hien offered to bribe 20 million VND to be released but was refused.
Hien is a particularly dangerous wanted subject by the Investigation Police Agency of Ha Tinh Province for the crime of "extortion" after fleeing the locality.
According to the Investigation Police Agency of Ha Tinh Province, from 2013 to 2015, seeing many trucks carrying acacia trees passing through Loc Yen Commune, Huong Khe District (Ha Tinh), Hien and his accomplices stopped many trucks to demand protection money.
Each trip, the driver had to pay Hien's group 1-2 million VND. The total amount of money that Hien's group extorted was up to hundreds of millions of VND.
