The Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in Nghe An Province held a meeting to commemorate the 64th anniversary of the Agent Orange disaster in Vietnam.
On the morning of August 8th, the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in Nghe An province held a meeting to commemorate the 64th anniversary of the Agent Orange disaster in Vietnam (August 10, 1961 – August 10, 2025).
Attending the meeting was Lieutenant General Nguyen Huu Chinh – Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin.
Representing Nghe An province were Comrade Nguyen Duc Thanh – Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; representatives from the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; members of the Standing Committee and Executive Committee of the Provincial Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin; and victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin.

At the meeting, Mr. Tang Van Canh – Vice Chairman of the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in the province – delivered a speech commemorating the Day of Agent Orange Disaster in Vietnam (August 10, 1961 – August 10, 2025).
The speech stated: There has been no meeting yet.warNo chemical warfare can compare to the chemical warfare waged by the US military in Vietnam, the largest, longest, and most devastating war in human history.

Over the past 64 years, the Party, State, government, and mass organizations at all levels have consistently shown concern for Agent Orange victims, both spiritually and materially. With the attention of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, and the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, efforts have been made to establish the Agent Orange Victims Fund.Agent OrangeIn order to care for and assist victims and their families in particularly difficult circumstances, Nghe An province has supported the construction of 250 houses and the repair of 168 houses; provided production capital for 510 people; awarded 192 scholarships; and visited and presented gifts on the Day of War Invalids and Martyrs (July 27), the "Vietnam Agent Orange Disaster Day (August 10)" and the Lunar New Year every year with tens of thousands of gifts. The total amount of money and in-kind donations has exceeded 40 billion VND.


The gifts and heartfelt contributions from organizations and individuals to the victims of Agent Orange have further enhanced the beautiful tradition of "loving others as oneself" of the Vietnamese people in general and the people of Nghe An in particular. At the same time, they serve as a source of motivation, encouraging the victims of Agent Orange to remain optimistic, cheerful, and confident in life, striving to integrate into the community and society.

Speaking at the meeting, Lieutenant General Nguyen Huu Chinh – Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin – requested that the Associations of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin at all levels in Nghe An continue to pay attention to and support victims and their families facing difficulties, helping them to overcome challenges in life. He also expressed his hope that the victims would always maintain an optimistic spirit and strive for a better future.
Also at the meeting, the Provincial Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin presented 4 wheelchairs to victims in Vinh Hung, Thanh Vinh, and Truong Vinh wards; and gave 8 gift packages to victims throughout the province.

On this occasion, Lieutenant General Nguyen Huu Chinh – Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin – presented 30 gift packages to Agent Orange victims affected by Typhoon No. 3 and awarded 3 livelihood support grants to victims in Nghe An province.
