National press conference to deploy tasks for 2022

On the morning of December 24, the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Information and Communications, and the Vietnam Journalists Association jointly organized a national press conference to summarize the work of 2021 and deploy tasks for 2022. The conference was held online from the main point of the Central Propaganda Department to points in localities.
Attending and directing the conference were comrades: Nguyen Trong Nghia - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department; Vu Duc Dam - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister.
Attending and chairing at the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee bridge were comrades: Nguyen Van Thong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department.

At the conference, delegates heard many important reports: Report on press work in 2021 and directions, goals, tasks, and solutions for 2022; Report on the results of 3 years of implementing the national press development and management plan until 2025; Report on initial results after 5 years of implementing 10 regulations on professional ethics for Vietnamese journalists, 3 years of implementing rules for using social networks, and results of handling violations of professional ethics in 2021.

As of November 30, 2021, the country had 816 press agencies, of which 11 newspapers operated in 2 forms, 116 magazines operated in 2 forms, 557 printed newspapers and magazines, 29 electronic newspapers and magazines... During the year, information work in the press was proactive, timely, and effective in disseminating important issues and events of the country, with a lot of information clearly demonstrating the leading role, unifying awareness and creating social consensus. Regarding professional activities, many press agencies have begun to implement digital transformation, strongly innovating in investing in improving the quality of news articles, creating valuable works, accessing modern journalism technology, and posting information on different infrastructures and media platforms...
Also at the conference, representatives of central and local press agencies presented many practical discussions on issues that are receiving much attention such as: innovation and creativity in propagating the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress; improving the quality of propaganda of the activities of the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels so that the press can truly be a bridge between voters and State power agencies at all levels; promoting the role of Party committees and leaders of governing agencies in leading and directing the activities of press agencies...
Speaking at the conference, comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department emphasized the increasingly important role of the press, as a sharp weapon in ideological work, a tool through which to arouse the spirit of patriotism, solidarity, and internal strength of the people, to effectively carry out the cause of industrialization - modernization, and deep integration...
In 2022, the Head of the Central Propaganda Department suggested that it is necessary to continue raising awareness and thoroughly grasping the role, functions and tasks of revolutionary journalism. In addition, press agencies need to constantly explore and innovate in propagating the Resolution of the 13th National Congress, strengthen press management, train human resources, coordinate in propagating and disseminating laws, promptly detect and handle "hot spots", increase cultural pages and columns, pay attention to foreign information work, etc.
