2013 All-Army Museum Conference
(Baonghean.vn)ButOn the morning of May 17th, the Propaganda Department of the General Political Department organized the 2013 All-Army Museum Conference at the 40th Cua Hoi Rehabilitation and Nursing Unit. Major General Vo Van Viet, Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of Military Region 4, attended the conference.
The summary report evaluating the performance of the entire military museum system nationwide from 2009 to 2012 commended the achievements in leadership, direction, and organization of museum work, especially in research, collection, and documentation, which were intensified in a specialized, expanded, and innovative manner. In addition, the exhibition and dissemination of artifacts closely followed the Party's guidelines, the leadership of the Head of the General Political Department, and the unit's tasks, attracting and diversifying the range of visitors.

Specifically, to date, 25 out of 27 museums in the entire military have received substantial investment in the construction of new exhibition halls, and many thematic exhibitions have been organized on a large scale, creating a significant impact on the public and meeting political objectives. Typical examples include the exhibitions "1000 Years of Thang Long - Hanoi," "50 Years of the Ho Chi Minh Trail on the Sea," and "40 Years of the Victory of Hanoi - Dien Bien Phu in the Air"... The Vietnam Military History Museum is a prime example, welcoming 250,000 to 300,000 visitors annually. Other museums that received commendations on this occasion include the Air Defense - Air Force Museum, the Military Region 1 Museum, the Military Region 4 Museum, and the Naval Museum...
Attending the conference, representatives from museums throughout the military also presented papers on their units' activities in areas such as: the trend of socializing museum activities; methods of collecting documents, artifacts, and thematic collections in the current situation; and experiences in guiding the operation of traditional houses (rooms) in units... Representatives from Military Region 4 presented a paper on the coordination between museums and localities in organizing mobile exhibitions to serve political events, emphasizing the advantages and difficulties as well as the effectiveness achieved in closely coordinating with local units to attract visitors to museums, promoting the raising of awareness among soldiers, officers, and the entire population regarding the activities of the Vietnam People's Army in the cause of national construction and defense.
