National online conference to review work on ensuring traffic order and safety
(Baonghean.vn) - In Nghe An, in the first 3 months of 2021, there were 44 traffic accidents, killing 31 people and injuring 30 people (9 fewer cases, 6 fewer deaths, and 11 fewer injuries compared to the same period).
On the morning of April 9, the Government held a national online conference to review the work of ensuring traffic order and safety (TTATGT) in the first quarter and deploy directions and tasks for the second quarter of 2021. The conference was chaired by Permanent Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the National Traffic Safety Committee Truong Hoa Binh.

In the first 3 months of the year, there were 3,206 traffic accidents nationwide.
According to the assessment at the conference, in the first 3 months of 2021, the traffic safety situation nationwide continued to have positive changes.traffic accident(TNGT) continued to decrease in all 3 criteria. Nationwide, there were 3,206 traffic accidents, killing 1,672 people and injuring 2,386 people.
Compared to the first 3 months of 2020, the number of traffic accidents decreased by 263 cases (7.58%), the number of deaths increased by 33 people (2.01%), the number of injured people decreased by 183 people (7.12%). Nationwide, there are 30 provinces and centrally-run cities with the number of deaths due to traffic accidents decreasing compared to the same period in 2020.
In Nghe An province alone, there were 44 traffic accidents in the first 3 months of the year, killing 31 people and injuring 30. Compared to the same period in 2020, there were 9 fewer accidents (16.9%), 6 fewer deaths (16.2%), and 11 fewer injuries (26.8%).
Also during the past time, local traffic police forces across the country have recorded and handled over 853,000 cases of traffic safety violations on roads, railways and inland waterways, imposed fines of VND828 billion 560 million; revoked over 81,000 driving licenses, certificates and professional qualifications, and temporarily detained nearly 150,000 vehicles of all kinds.

The Inspectorate of the Ministry of Transport has chaired the deployment and continued to conduct 11 inspection and examination teams in areas related to ensuring traffic safety. The Directorate for Roads of Vietnam, specialized departments and inspectors of the Departments of Transport have conducted nearly 7,000 inspections and examinations; sanctioned over 7,200 administrative violations with a fine of over VND 25.6 billion; detained 28 cars; suspended the operation of 43 inland waterway wharves, 21 inland waterway vehicles; supervised 91 periods.driving testcar, 61 motorcycle driving test.
Reduce traffic accidents on all 3 criteria
At the conference, ministries, departments, branches and localities reported on the work of ensuring traffic safety of their units and localities, as well as proposed solutions for ensuring traffic safety in the coming time.
Concluding the conference, Mr. Truong Hoa Binh - Permanent Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the National Traffic Safety Committee acknowledged the efforts and responsibilities of ministries, branches and localities in coordinating to ensure traffic safety in the first 3 months of the year. This is a time when the Covid-19 epidemic continues to develop complicatedly, forces must simultaneously fight the epidemic, in addition, our country has many important political and social events...
However, there are still many particularly serious traffic accidents on the roads, killing many people. The Deputy Prime Minister requested ministries, branches and localities to continue to resolutely implement a number of key tasks of the 2021 Traffic Safety Year with the theme "Improving the effectiveness and efficiency of law enforcement to ensure traffic safety". Continue to promote the dissemination, popularization and education of traffic safety laws; direct the resolute and synchronous implementation of solutions to ensure traffic safety and prevent traffic congestion.

The authorities, especially the Traffic Police, need to coordinate closely, strengthen patrols, control, detect and handle violations of traffic safety, especially on National Highway 1A, especially during the April 30 and May 1 holidays... Focus on handling violations that are the main causes of traffic accidents such as: Violationsalcohol concentration, drugs, speeding, people on motorbikes and scooters not wearing helmets... contribute to reducing traffic accidents on all 3 criteria.
