The Association of Elderly People implements its tasks for 2014.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of January 9th, the Association of Elderly People held a meeting to summarize its work in 2013 and plan for 2014.

With over 342,000 members concentrated in 481 grassroots associations, the association has carried out many beneficial and meaningful activities related to the care of the elderly and promoting the role of the elderly over the past year. These activities include celebrating birthdays, providing healthcare, promoting physical exercise and sports, cultural and artistic activities, participating in building the Party, government, and political system at the grassroots level, participating in scholarship programs, contributing to the new rural development program, planting trees, and protecting the environment.

Overview of the conference

In particular, the members also actively participate in labor and production, poverty alleviation, and improving their lives. Throughout the province, there are 1,410 elderly association members who are farm owners, 419 who are business owners, and 12,036 elderly people who are successful in business.

Thanks to these active efforts, in 2013 the Nghe An Association of Elderly People was awarded the banner of excellence by the Central Association of Elderly People as the leading unit in the North Central region.
