Quynh Luu Blind Association celebrates 20th anniversary of its founding

(Baonghean.vn)- On September 7, the Association of the Blind in Quynh Luu district held a ceremony to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the association's founding (September 8, 1995 - September 8, 2015).

The Association of the Blind in Quynh Luu District was established in September 1995. After 20 years of development, up to now, after 20 years, the association has mobilized 251 members to participate in activities in 22 branches and take care of 13 blind children in the area.

The Association has also gradually grown and developed, becoming a trustworthy organization for blind members, providing vocational training and creating jobs for the visually impaired, helping them gain more confidence and determination to rise up in life, no longer feeling self-conscious or self-conscious.

Awarding certificates of merit to outstanding groups and individuals

Currently, the association is maintaining 3 occupations: toothpick splitting, incense making and massage. Thanks to the stable occupation and job, it has created regular jobs for many blind workers with salaries ranging from 1.5 to 2 million VND/person/month. The total revenue of the association in recent years has reached over 6.4 billion VND. The association has also coordinated with the social policy bank to establish and approve 18 projects for members to borrow preferential loans with an amount of 1.7 billion VND.

On this occasion, representatives of the Blind Association of Nghe An province awarded the medal for the happiness of the blind from the Central Association of the Blind of Vietnam to 3 individuals, and awarded certificates of merit from the Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province to 1 group and 1 individual. The Chairman of the People's Committee of Quynh Luu district also awarded certificates of merit to 3 groups and 7 individuals with outstanding achievements in the movement of the district's Blind Association.
