Con Cuong District Farmers' Association held the 10th Congress
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of April 13, the Con Cuong District Farmers' Association held the 10th Congress (term 2018-2023). This is a representative congress of Route 7. Attending the congress were representatives of the Provincial Farmers' Association, Con Cuong District, and the Farmers' Associations of Ky Son, Tuong Duong, Anh Son, Tan Ky and Do Luong districts.
During the past term, the Farmers' Associations at all levels in the district have united and strived to complete the tasks and targets set by the 9th Congress. Food output in 2012 reached over 28,600 tons, and in 2017 it reached nearly 35,000 tons. The district has formed a number of specialized areas for growing oranges, tea, sugarcane and vegetables with high productivity, bringing income to farmers.

Farm and cooperative models were formed and developed. The Association has provided loans to more than 3,000 member households with a total outstanding loan balance of over 75 billion VND. Since then, it has coordinated and successfully built 85 effective economic models, including 55 crop models, 20 livestock models, and 10 other production and business models.

Up to now, the whole district has 12,530 farmer households with good production and business, of which 206 households are at the central level, 1,028 households with good business at the provincial level and 3,561 households with good business at the district level.
During the past term, 21 households had their dilapidated temporary houses removed, 130 farming households escaped poverty, contributing to reducing the poverty rate in the district from 44% in 2012 to 24.08% (2017).

Based on the unity and consensus of the Farmers' Association at all levels in the district, the Congress approved the tasks and orientations for the development of the District Farmers' Association in the coming time; elected the Executive Committee of the Con Cuong District Farmers' Association for the 10th term, 2018-2023. Mr. Vi Van Binh was re-elected as Chairman of the District Farmers' Association for the 10th term.
