Nghe An Farmers' Association replicates economic models of specific regions
(Baonghean.vn) - The discussion aims to clarify the role and importance of Association officials at all levels in propaganda and mobilization work on ethnicity and religion in building and promoting the strength of the great national unity bloc, ensuring security, order and social safety in rural areas.

On the morning of October 31, in Vinh city, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union held a seminar: "Promoting the role of the Farmers' Union in propagating and mobilizing farmers to implement the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws on ethnicity and religion".
The conference was chaired by the Central Executive Committee members: Pham Huy Hung - Deputy Head of the Ethnic, Religious, National Defense and Security Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union; Nguyen Quang Tung - Chairman of the Nghe An Farmers' Union. The discussion was attended by representatives of relevant departments and branches; Farmers' Unions at all levels in the province.
Share good practices and valuable experiences

In his report at the conference, comrade Pham Huy Hung emphasized: The seminar aims to promote propaganda and mobilize farmers in ethnic and religious areas to effectively implement the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State on ethnicity, belief and religion; develop the socio-economy, ensure national defense and security; develop agriculture, farmers and rural areas in ethnic and religious areas. Raise awareness among cadres and farmer members in ethnic and religious areas about the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State on ethnicity, belief and religion.

At the same time, identify and combat "strange religions", "evil religions", and religious organizations not recognized by the State that take advantage of ethnic and religious issues to cause political insecurity, social order and safety, and divide the great national unity bloc to sabotage the Party and the State.
This is also an opportunity for delegates to exchange and share information as well as clarify the role and importance of Association officials at all levels, especially Association officials at the grassroots level, in propaganda and mobilization work on ethnicity and religion in building and promoting the strength of the great national unity bloc. From there, lessons can be drawn, recommendations and solutions proposed to improve the quality and effectiveness of propaganda work on ethnicity and religion, contributing to building and promoting the strength of the great national unity bloc, ensuring security, order and social safety in rural areas.

At the seminar, the delegates' presentations also shared good practices and typical models... to do a good job of propaganda and mobilizing farmers to effectively implement the Party's policies, the State's policies and laws, and the Association's tasks in ethnic and religious areas.

Replicating regional economic models
Up to now, Nghe An Provincial Farmers' Association has 21/21 district-level units, 447 bases, 3,640 branches, 497,802 farmer members; of which 16 districts, cities and towns have religious organizations, 5 mountainous ethnic districts have Catholic followers but the number is small; 252 Association bases in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, 174/447 Association bases in religious areas, 74,593 farmer members are ethnic minorities, 24,923 farmer members are Catholics.

In recent years, farmers' associations at all levels in the province have promoted propaganda, dissemination and implementation of the Party and State's policies, directives and resolutions of the Central and the province related to ethnic and religious affairs for cadres and farmer members. Timely grasp the thoughts and aspirations of members and farmers to make recommendations to authorities at all levels to consider, resolve and encourage members and farmers in religious and ethnic areas to unite to build civilized and progressive villages, hamlets, and hamlets, to live "good lives, good religions", "respect God and love the country".
With the motto "listen to people, speak so that people understand, do so that people believe", all levels of the Association in the province have promoted the implementation of grassroots democracy regulations, promoted people's mastery, mobilized all people's contributions to the construction and development of the locality, and strengthened solidarity among ethnic groups.
In economic development, the Association at all levels has actively promoted and mobilized farmers to make efforts to transform crop and livestock structures, expand industries and occupations, create jobs, and innovate backward and ineffective farming practices into new, highly economically efficient methods; and promote service activities to support farmers in terms of capital, agricultural materials, vocational training, and training in science and technology transfer.

In particular, focusing on the issue of promoting economic structure towards commodity production, in accordance with the customs of each specific region and each ethnic group, associated with promoting the establishment of branches and groups of the Professional Farmers' Association; Strengthening inspection, supervision, social criticism and participation in Party and government building and in the implementation of ethnic and religious programs, projects and policies; prioritizing the development of agriculture 4.0 but not excluding traditional agricultural production forms in ethnic minority and religious areas.
The Association at all levels has also actively mobilized farmer members in ethnic and religious areas to unite to build a cultural life, preserve and promote the national cultural identity, participate in the campaign "All people unite to build a cultural life" associated with building new rural areas, well implement conventions, village regulations, civilized lifestyle in residential areas... Every year, the Association at all levels has mobilized farmer members to register to strive to achieve the title of cultural family with over 95% of households participating and over 90% of households registering to achieve the title of cultural family.
