Nghe An Ornamental Plants Association deploys tasks for 2013
(Baonghean.vn) -This morning, January 27, Nghe An Ornamental Plants Association held a conference to summarize activities in 2012 and deploy tasks in 2013.
Currently, Nghe An Ornamental Plants Association has 125 Association branches with nearly 4,500 members. Last year, Nghe An ornamental plant movement developed rapidly and effectively; people invested about 222 billion VND in ornamental plants with nearly 2,000 workers participating, including 250 households growing flowers. Many districts have sustainable ecological residential area models. 50-70% of families have ornamental plants, many households have ornamental plant areas of 20-50m2. Currently, there are 400 gardens worth 100 million VND, 200 gardens worth 300-500 million VND, 100 gardens worth over 1 billion VND.
Conference overview
Implementing the policy assigned by the Provincial People's Committee, the Ornamental Plants Association has coordinated with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the People's Committee of Tan Ky district to prepare a dossier to submit to the competent authority to recognize the thousand-year-old banyan tree in Giai Xuan commune, Tan Ky district as a Vietnamese heritage, and to advise on plans to preserve and promote this banyan tree.
The conference also approved the direction of activities in 2013 such as: Each district and town builds a good model commune to participate in the new rural construction program; Guides urban districts to organize the Spring bonsai festival to celebrate the Party and Spring, and well implement the tree planting festival. In particular, scientifically arrange flower and bonsai markets on Tet holiday in Vinh city to serve people to celebrate the Quy Ty New Year.
Awarding certificates of merit to groups and individuals with outstanding achievements in the ornamental plant movement.
On this occasion, the Association also awarded certificates of merit to 3 groups and 18 individuals with outstanding achievements in the ornamental plant movement last year.
