At the conference, reports from many professors, doctors, managers, and journalists highly appreciated the role of domestic press agencies in actively contributing to the dissemination and promotion of national culture preservation and development. They also emphasized that Vietnamese journalism needs to pay more attention to introducing and promoting national cultural heritage to serve the needs of economic and tourism development, helping international friends learn more about valuable cultural heritage so that international cultural organizations can recognize it as world cultural heritage.
According to Professor Hoang Chuong, Director General of the Center for Research, Preservation and Promotion of Vietnamese National Culture: The press is an important factor contributing to the enactment of the Law on National Cultural Heritage. Thanks to the press, the damage to cultural heritage has been prevented; annual folk festivals are conducted in a solemn, attractive, and joyful atmosphere; and it helps state agencies become aware of, change, and pay attention to, the protection, and investment in the preservation and promotion of national cultural heritage.
In the future, the press needs to do a better job of publicizing, introducing, and promoting more of the national cultural heritage that has been recognized by the State and internationally.
The organization of this workshop is of great importance, aiming to mobilize a large number of journalists to participate in introducing and promoting the preservation and development of national cultural heritage, especially while relevant agencies are proposing that UNESCO recognize the Central Vietnam Bài Chòi folk singing tradition as a world cultural heritage; thereby contributing to clarifying the management and preservation of cultural heritage in localities, finding valuable lessons and useful experiences in the restoration and preservation of national cultural heritage.
