Central Highlands Party Newspaper Workshop: 'Shaking hands' to link tourism

The press plays a role in promoting and developing tourism.
The workshop took place in Nha Trang City - a place known as a "tourist paradise". At this workshop, with the theme "The role of the press in promoting tourism", it once again affirmed that. Moreover, through many carefully prepared presentations, Party journalists in the Central Highlands - Central region shared many good and effective propaganda methods that have a positive impact on local development.
With the theme "Accompanying to promote the image of Uncle Ho's homeland to domestic and international friends", Nghe An Newspaper was the first unit to present a speech. Comrade Tran Huu Nghia, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Nghe An Newspaper, fully summarized the potentials and strengths of the province's tourism: "One of the few provinces in the country that has all the potentials and advantages to develop diverse forms of tourism such as: spiritual tourism, scenic tourism, sea tourism, discovery - adventure tourism; conference - seminar tourism".
As the "conductor" in information and communication work, the "bridge" between the Party's will and the people's hearts, Nghe An Newspaper has actively propagated with many rich and diverse forms, creating social effects.

In particular, in recent years, along with the development of the converged editorial model, Nghe An Newspaper has promoted tourism promotion and introduction on electronic newspapers with many vivid expressions such as articles, photos, video clips, Photo Gallery, Flycam Video, Infographics... and interactions on social networks such as Facebook, Google+, Instagram, Twitter...
In fact, this new form has brought a new image of tourism, life, culture and people of Nghe An and received positive feedback from readers, shown through likes and shares on social networking sites of each work.

For Da Nang Newspaper, in order to build the image of a “livable city”, in addition to promoting events, the newspaper focuses on promoting beautiful “but very ordinary” images to tourists. That could be the beautiful actions of a taxi driver, staff at tourist areas, hotels, parking lots that do not increase prices during major events… Da Nang Newspaper has also built a column “One address per week” on Da Nang Weekend, Da Nang Electronic to serve as a “guide” for tourists.
Not only promptly reporting and writing articles about the potentials and advantages of tourism, the press is also the pioneer in "speaking correctly and pointing out" the shortcomings and limitations, thereby providing constructive opinions and arguments.
According to comrade Duong The Hoan - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Dak Lak Newspaper, "propaganda through many perspectives" has provided accurate and quality information to help the tourism business community as well as competent authorities to plan socio-economic development policies in general, and the tourism industry in particular, to have visions, make appropriate and timely adjustments and supplements.
"Shaking hands" to link tourism
In recent years, tourism has become a key economic sector of many provinces and cities in the Central Highlands region, bringing in large revenues. However, despite the information explosion, one of the current limitations in tourism promotion in Party newspapers is that the connection between press agencies is still inadequate. Therefore, the values and tourism potential of each locality have not been fully exploited, as well as the advantages of the press have not been fully exploited.

With the theme “The role of the press in promoting tourism”, this workshop frankly shared and pointed out the shortcomings in the current coordination of tourism promotion, in which the main reason is the lack of a “conductor” to sing the connecting music.
To "create a breakthrough in market promotion activities", according to comrade Tran Huu Nghia - Nghe An Newspaper: "Newspapers need to learn from each other's experiences in propaganda work, share with each other good practices and good tourism models of localities.
Besides, local state tourism management agencies also need to grasp the spirit of cooperation between newspapers to support when necessary."

For Quang Binh newspaper, after the marine environmental incident, the biggest wish is "to have many articles about the potential and strengths of tourism in your province, especially through electronic newspapers".
On the host side, speaking at the workshop, comrade Nguyen Tan Tuan, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Khanh Hoa province, said that what is necessary now is that the provinces need to build a method of linking sustainable tourism development. In particular, it is necessary to put the tourism development of each locality in the national tourism development strategy, in the overall development of the Central Highlands region and in connection with other regions. Closely follow the long-term development orientation, the socio-economic development plans of the region, the locality, the overall orientation of tourism development of the region".
At this workshop, for the first time, 18 Party newspapers in the Central Highlands region signed a commitment to coordinate tourism propaganda programs. The main purpose is to improve the quality of propaganda and tourism promotion in the Central Highlands region, creating a propaganda effect and strong spread, contributing to sustainable tourism development.

The conference also awarded the flag to the host unit of the 8th Central Highlands - Central Party Newspaper Conference to Thanh Hoa Newspaper, organized in 2018.
