Scientific seminar 'Comrade Le Hong Son with the revolution and his homeland Nghe An'

(Baonghean.vn) - The scientific conference “Comrade Le Hong Son with the revolutionary cause and Nghe An homeland” has honored and acknowledged more fully the contributions of Comrade Le Hong Son to the revolutionary cause of Vietnam. This is also an opportunity to propose solutions to preserve and promote the value of relics related to the comrade in his homeland Nam Dan.

On the morning of July 15, the Department of Culture and Sports coordinated with the People's Committee of Nam Dan district to organize a scientific workshop "Comrade Le Hong Son with the revolution and his homeland Nghe An".

Attending the workshop, on the Central side, there were delegates: Associate Professor, Dr. Ly Viet Quang - Director of the Ho Chi Minh Institute and Party leaders; Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Van Bai - Vice Chairman of the National Cultural Heritage Council.

On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrades: Nguyen Nam Dinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Tran Thi My Hanh - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports; Hoang Van Nhien - Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee of Provincial Agencies; representatives of the Department of Tourism, Department of Science and Technology, Provincial Political School, Nam Dan District People's Committee and related departments, branches, sectors and organizations.

Loyal communist soldier

Comrade Le Hong Son's birth name was Le Van Phon (commonly known as Le Van Phan). Born in 1899, in a poor Confucian family in Xuan Ho village, Xuan Lieu commune, now Xuan Hoa commune, Nam Dan district, a land of talented people, rich in patriotic and revolutionary traditions.

In 1920, he left his family and homeland to go to Trai Cay, Thailand (a patriotic base of the Vietnamese people founded by Phan Boi Chau and Dang Thuc Hua) and changed his name to Le Hong Son. Later, comrade Le Hong Son was sent by comrade Dang Thuc Hua to Hainan (China) to study. At the end of 1920, comrade Le Hong Son arrived in Guangzhou.

During 13 years of working abroad, with 25 name changes, comrade Le Hong Son was assigned by the Party to different tasks for revolutionary activities. Although he was captured many times by the enemy and tortured, bribed, and enticed by all means, he could not overcome the spirit of the staunch communist soldier.

On February 20, 1933, comrade Le Hong Son was executed in his hometown of Xuan Hoa commune, Nam Dan district and his body was brought back to be buried by his relatives on a high mound in Dam Neu, 300m from the execution site. This was an extremely great loss for our Party.

Speaking at the workshop, comrade Tran Thi My Hanh - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports emphasized that the revolutionary career of comrade Le Hong Son is a continuation of the tradition of the homeland and country with the spirit of a patriotic youth, full of ambition and ideals.

Through the process of training and maturing, comrade Le Hong Son became a communist soldier and one of the leaders of the Vietnamese revolution at that time. The whole process was a continuous and persistent struggle, demonstrating the mettle and stance of a true communist, not retreating in the face of hardships and difficulties. Comrade Le Hong Son's steadfast mettle, not afraid of difficulties and hardships, fighting for goals and ideals is a valuable lesson for future generations.

Promoting research and preserving the heritage of comrade Le Hong Son

In fact, in the past, there have been a number of articles and magazines mentioning the background, life and career of comrade Le Hong Son. However, these articles only provide narrow-scope assessments, and there has not been a comprehensive and in-depth research work about him.

Therefore, promoting research, preserving and conserving heritage related to comrade Le Hong Son as an example to educate traditions for future generations is a necessary and meaningful task.

With the participation of more than 30 scientists, researchers, leaders, local authorities, the scientific workshop "Comrade Le Hong Son with the revolutionary cause and Nghe An homeland" approved many quality research papers, scientific reports and opinions.

Delegates, scientists, and historical witnesses further clarified the historical influences that shaped the personality and ideals of comrade Le Hong Son and his process of enlightenment and participation in the revolution at home and abroad.

The workshop provided more information about the activities of comrade Le Hong Son; evaluated and commented on the role of comrade Le Hong Son in the birth of the Communist Party of Vietnam as well as his influence on the Vietnamese revolutionary movement.

Feasible solutions and orientations for preserving and promoting the value of relics and sites related to the life and revolutionary career of comrade Le Hong Son in his homeland Nghe An were also mentioned with many scientific and accurate perspectives.

Concluding the workshop, the Director of the Department of Culture and Sports acknowledged the enthusiastic and quality contributions of the delegates and affirmed that the workshop had achieved the set goals.

In the coming time, the preservation and promotion of heritage and relics related to comrade Le Hong Son needs to continue to be promoted. In particular, propaganda work and coordination with schools at all levels to organize extracurricular activities at the relics, turning this place into a place to educate patriotism and love for the homeland for the younger generation.

At the same time, continue to collect documents and artifacts to supplement and clarify the life, career and contributions of comrade Le Hong Son to the revolution, in order to enhance the quality of education on revolutionary traditions, foster national pride and self-respect for future generations.
