Before the conference, leaders of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Nghe An province and the Organizing Committee visited and offered flowers and incense at the tomb and memorial house of comrade Le Hong Son in Xuan Hoa commune, Nam Dan district.

Comrade Le Hong Son's birth name was Le Van Phon, commonly known as Le Van Phan (with many aliases, such as: Le Hung Quoc, Vo Hong Anh, Le Tan Anh), born in 1899 in a Confucian family in Xuan Ho village, Xuan Lieu commune, now Xuan Hoa commune, Nam Dan district, Nghe An province.
In 1920, at the age of 21, young man Le Van Phon left his family and homeland to go to Thailand, starting his revolutionary career with a new name, Le Hong Son.

He was one of the founding members of the organization “Tam Tam Xa” with new revolutionary activities that created a great resonance; he was one of the first members of the “Vietnam Revolutionary Youth Association” and one of the effective and trusted collaborators of leader Nguyen Ai Quoc in training and coaching cadres to spread Marxism-Leninism to Vietnam.

Comrade Le Hong Son also played an important role in the establishment of the An Nam Communist Party - one of the three predecessor organizations of our Party; at the same time, he actively participated in mobilizing and organizing the conference to unify communist organizations to establish the Communist Party of Vietnam in February 1930. When leader Nguyen Ai Quoc convened and chaired the conference to unify communist organizations; Comrade Le Hong Son was one of the seven delegates attending the conference, contributing his efforts and intelligence to the success of the Party's founding conference.
After the Communist Party of Vietnam was founded, comrade Le Hong Son was assigned to stay and work in the Vietnam Branch of the "Union of Oppressed Peoples of East Asia" of the Eastern Division of the Communist International.

In 1932, after distributing leaflets to celebrate International Labor Day on May 1, he was arrested by the Chinese government in Shanghai and extradited to the French authorities in Indochina and imprisoned in Vinh prison. He was sentenced to death by the Southern Court in Nghe An. On February 20, 1933, he heroically sacrificed himself in his hometown.
Comrade Le Hong Son's revolutionary career, although not long, was glorious and heroic. Despite being imprisoned, tortured, enticed and bribed by the enemy three times, he always maintained the integrity of a loyal and indomitable communist soldier until he was murdered by the enemy at the age of 34.

In his opening speech, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang - Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council emphasized that the workshop is an opportunity to honor and learn more deeply about the life, glorious revolutionary career and great contributions of comrade Le Hong Son to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.
