Scientific seminar: 'Comrade Phan Dang Luu with the Vietnamese revolution and his homeland Nghe An'

On the afternoon of April 25, on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the birth of comrade Phan Dang Luu (May 5, 1902 - May 5, 2022))In Vinh city, Nghe An province, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics coordinated with the Central Propaganda Department and Nghe An Provincial Party Committee to organize a scientific seminar with the theme: "Comrade Phan Dang Luu with the Vietnamese revolution and his homeland Nghe An".

Attending and chairing the workshop were comrades: Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang - Member of the Politburo, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council; Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation, Chairman of the People's Council of Nghe An province; Tran Thanh Lam - Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Van Loi - Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics.

Attending the workshop were comrades: Bui Truong Giang - Vice President and General Secretary of the Central Theoretical Council; Nguyen The Ky - former member of the Party Central Committee, former General Director of the Voice of Vietnam, Chairman of the Central Council for Theory and Criticism of Literature and Arts; representatives of the leadership of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, the Central Propaganda Department, central departments and branches; representatives of the family and clan of comrade Phan Dang Luu; central and local scientists.

On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrade Nguyen Van Thong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; leaders of the People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee and departments, branches and sectors.

Deepen the activities and contributions of Comrade Phan Dang Luu

Comrade Phan Dang Luu was born on May 5, 1902, in Dong village, Trang Thanh commune, now Hoa Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, Nghe An province - a rural area rich in cultural and revolutionary traditions, in a Confucian family with a patriotic tradition. Absorbing the fine traditions of the nation, homeland and family, Comrade Phan Dang Luu soon formed patriotic thoughts and the will to fight against oppression and injustice.

Joining the revolution early, with his talent and high prestige, he soon became one of the key revolutionary leaders of the Indochinese Communist Party and was assigned to hold many important positions such as: Central Region Party Committee Member, Central Committee Member of the Indochinese Communist Party. On August 26, 1941, comrade Phan Dang Luu heroically sacrificed himself before the enemy's guns.

With 39 years of age, 16 years of continuous revolutionary activities, including more than 7 years of imprisonment in imperialist prisons, comrade Phan Dang Luu devoted and sacrificed his whole life to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation, becoming a typical senior leader of the Party and the Vietnamese revolution.

In his opening speech and introduction to the Workshop, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang - Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, asked delegates and scientists to focus on discussing and deepening 4 contents about the life and career of comrade Phan Dang Luu: an ardent patriotic intellectual, a staunch and indomitable communist; a talented leader of the Party and the Vietnamese revolution; an exemplary communist, striving and sacrificing his whole life for the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation; an outstanding son of Nghe An homeland.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang emphasized: The scientific conference commemorating the 120th anniversary of Comrade Phan Dang Luu's birth was held in the atmosphere where the entire Party, people and army are striving to compete to successfully implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress. Following the example of Comrade Phan Dang Luu, each Party committee, Party organization, government at all levels and socio-political organizations, each cadre and Party member should uphold the spirit of self-cultivation and training in revolutionary ethics.

Along with that, regularly, extensively and effectively carry out the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style in conjunction with the implementation of political tasks; strictly carry out self-criticism and criticism, voluntarily set an example in conjunction with the duties and tasks of each cadre and party member, considering it a driving force and one of the important, long-term and regular solutions for the work of building and rectifying the Party and a clean and strong political system.

Firmly protect the achievements of the revolution, build and develop a prosperous and happy socialist Vietnam, worthy of the merits of President Ho Chi Minh and the dedication and sacrifice of previous revolutionary generations for the goal of national independence and socialism.

In his welcoming speech at the Workshop, Comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation, Chairman of the People's Council of Nghe An province affirmed: The life of Comrade Phan Dang Luu left a shining moral example of a man loyal to the country, devoted to the people; a revolutionary leader with far-sighted vision, full of strategy, bravery and resilience. No matter the circumstances, from when he was a patriotic youth to when he became a member of the Communist Party, in an imperial prison or until the last moments of his heroic sacrifice on the execution ground, he always maintained his fighting spirit and strong belief in the victory of the Vietnamese revolution.

The Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee emphasized: Through today's workshop, we will contribute to enriching and deepening the life, activities and contributions of comrade Phan Dang Luu to the revolutionary cause of our Party and People; better understanding and pride in the historical and cultural traditions of the land and people of Nghe An.

Besides, the documents of the Workshop will be extremely valuable historical data of the Party, the State and Nghe An province to serve the work of studying, researching, propagating and educating patriotism, national pride and self-respect for generations, especially the young generation today and tomorrow.

CONTINUE TO AFFIRM, HONOR AND THANK FOR THE GREAT CONTRIBUTIONS OF COMRADE PHAN DANG LUU

The Organizing Committee of the Workshop received 30 reports and speeches from Party leaders, leaders of central agencies and departments, some localities and scientists, including 7 speeches and opinions directly presented at the Workshop.

Based on the synthesis of the report's orientation content, it can be seen that from many different approaches, scientists have focused on analyzing and deepening the activities and great contributions of comrade Phan Dang Luu to the Vietnamese revolution and his homeland Nghe An.

Representing the family of comrade Phan Dang Luu, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Dung - the eldest granddaughter-in-law, spoke emotionally, expressing deep gratitude to the Party, State and People for always remembering the heroic sacrifice of comrade Phan Dang Luu.

To be worthy of the example of comrade Phan Dang Luu, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Dung said: The children and grandchildren in the family always strive and work well, many members and grandchildren are standing in the ranks of the Party, wholeheartedly serving the revolution and the people, worthy of being exemplary descendants of revolutionary predecessors.

To continue affirming, honoring and expressing gratitude for the great contributions of comrade Phan Dang Luu to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the Vietnamese people, in his concluding and closing speech at the Workshop, comrade Tran Thanh Lam - Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department emphasized: "Let us step up the propaganda of patriotism, strengthen the education of revolutionary traditions for all classes of people, especially cadres, party members and the young generation; follow the shining example of the qualities of loyalty to the country, filial piety to the people, lifelong struggle and sacrifice for the noble communist ideals of comrade Phan Dang Luu and revolutionary predecessors; live, fight, work and study according to the ideology, morality and style of the great President Ho Chi Minh".
