National Science Conference with the theme "Teaching Natural Sciences and Chemistry from theory to practice"

On the morning of July 31, in Cua Lo town, Nghe An Chemistry Association in collaboration with the Faculty of Chemistry - School of Education - Vinh University organized a National Scientific Conference with the theme "Teaching Natural Sciences and Chemistry from theory to practice".

Attending the workshop were Dr. Do Duy Phi - President of Vietnam Chemistry Association; Associate Professor Dr. Cao Cu Giac - President of Nghe An Chemistry Association; Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Hoa Du - Vice President of the University Council, Vinh University; Associate Professor Dr. Luu Tien Hung - Principal of the School of Education - Vinh University.

The workshop gathered nearly 500 delegates who are leading experts in teaching Natural Sciences and Chemistry from 22 provinces and cities and 10 universities in Hanoi, Hue, Saigon, Quy Nhon... In addition, there were also authors of new textbooks, teachers directly teaching Natural Sciences and Chemistry from many secondary and high schools nationwide.

The National Science Conference with the theme "Teaching Natural Sciences and Chemistry from theory to practice" took place in the context that the whole country is preparing to enter the final year of implementing the 2018 General Education Program.

Over the past years, with many advantages and difficulties, the organization of Chemistry teaching in schools has been gradually adjusted to keep up with the program, to ensure teaching and learning in the direction of developing students' qualities and abilities, creating changes in the quality of teaching and learning.

With the aim of improving the quality of teaching Natural Sciences and Chemistry in schools, this year's conference received dozens of articles from scientists from Hanoi Pedagogical University, University of Education - Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Capital University, Vinh University, Hue Pedagogical University - Hue University, Saigon University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, Institute of Educational Sciences and especially many articles from high school teachers, middle school teachers and specialized schools from many provinces and cities across the country.

In which, the focus is on the following contents: discussing some issues about Natural Science textbooks and Chemistry textbooks; introducing some studies on teaching strategies for Natural Science and Chemistry...

The papers also focused on sharing practical experiences in the process of applying teaching methods and techniques for Natural Sciences and Chemistry to develop students' qualities and abilities, and to evaluate students' learning outcomes in the direction of developing qualities and abilities.

Speaking at the conference, Dr. Do Duy Phi - Chairman of the Vietnam Chemistry Association highly appreciated the efforts of the Nghe An Chemistry Association in preparing and implementing the conference. After 3 years of implementation with many different topics, the National Scientific Conference has gathered many leading experts in Chemistry nationwide and many teachers who are passionate about Chemistry in schools.

With many different approaches, the sharing at the workshop will be valuable experiences for teachers and schools. On that basis, it will remove difficulties and gradually contribute to improving the effectiveness of organizing Chemistry teaching, helping students gradually form and develop the ability to learn, and be able to apply knowledge better in the process of developing the ability to solve practical problems.

At this workshop, delegates also had the opportunity to interact and exchange directly with the Editor-in-Chief, Editors and authors of Natural Science textbooks and Chemistry textbooks.

Within the framework of the program, yesterday (July 30), Nghe An Chemistry Association also organized the third Chemistry Olympiad Final Exam 19-5. Organizing the Chemistry Olympiad 19-5 is one of the Association's meaningful activities to promote the movement of teaching and learning Chemistry in secondary and high schools.

Thereby, to discover and honor students with talent in Chemistry, creating a source of nurturing Chemistry students for high schools.

This year, the contest attracted more than 1,500 contestants from across the country. Through the preliminary round (online competition) and the final round (in-person competition), the Organizing Committee awarded prizes to 42 excellent contestants, students from grades 7 to 12 from Hanoi, Vung Tau, Vinh Phuc, Quang Tri, Tra Vinh and Nghe An provinces, including 2 First prizes, 7 Second prizes, 12 Third prizes, 11 Fourth prizes and 10 Promising prizes.

The two students who won first prize were Cao Cu Thanh Vinh - class 8B, Vinh University's Pedagogical Practice School, and Nguyen Khac Duong - class 11A4, Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, Nghe An province./.
