Scientific seminar on the life and career of Dr. Tran Dinh Phong
(Baonghean.vn) - On October 31, Nghe An Department of Science and Technology coordinated with Yen Thanh District People's Committee to organize a scientific seminar on the life and career of Tran Dinh Phong.

Doctor Tran Dinh Phong, alias Uy Khanh, alias Ma Son, was born in the year of the Cat (1843) in Yen Ma village, Quy Trach commune, Dien Chau prefecture, now Ma Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, Nghe An province. He was a famous person, a famous scholar of Nghe An, who passed the imperial examinations and served as an official in the Nguyen Dynasty in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

With diligence and intelligence, Tran Dinh Phong continuously held different positions, and no matter what position he held, he always completed the assigned work well, was trusted by the court and respected by the people.
In particular, as the director of education in Quang Nam, Tran Dinh Phong contributed a lot to the education and examination system. Along with selecting teachers and choosing excellent students, he also directly taught and imparted knowledge to his disciples, so that many of his later students became patriots and outstanding reformers such as Phan Chu Trinh, Huynh Thuc Khang, Tran Quy Cap... He also contributed a lot to the compilation of history books and research on the traditional cultural history of his homeland and country.

However, there are not many studies on Dr. Tran Dinh Phong, not enough and comprehensive, therefore, at the conference, scientists and researchers shed more light on the life, career, background, contributions of Tran Dinh Phong in the education career; about the contributions of Dr. Tran Dinh Phong's sons and daughters...
Through the seminar, readers will better understand the contributions of the Tran Dinh family, a generation of mature Confucian scholars; better understand the fine traditions of Yen Thanh homeland; contribute to moral education for future generations, and at the same time provide valuable sources of documents when learning about the people, homeland and country./.
