(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of April 18th, the opening ceremony of the 2015 Sports Festival for officials, workers, and employees of the transportation sector in Nghe An province took place at the gymnasium of the Vietnam-Korea Technical and Industrial Vocational College. Attending the opening ceremony was Mr. Huynh Thanh Dien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

With the slogans "Discipline - Quality - Cooperation - Safety - Efficiency" and "Health for good production and work, sports to combat social evils," the 2015 sports festival for officials, workers, and employees of the transportation sector in Nghe An province attracted the participation of over 450 athletes from 26 units within the sector.

The athletes competed in four sports: football, volleyball, tennis, and badminton. This annual event was held in response to President Ho Chi Minh's call for physical training to build and protect the Fatherland. It also provided an opportunity for officials, workers, and employees in the industry to interact, strengthen solidarity, and cooperate among units to fulfill their tasks in state management and production and business.

The sports festival also has an important significance: it celebrates the Party Congresses at all levels leading up to the 12th National Party Congress, and commemorates the 70th anniversary of the traditional day and the Patriotic Emulation Congress of the Vietnamese transport sector (August 28, 1945 - August 28, 2015).
The 2015 sports festival for officials, workers, and employees of the transportation sector in Nghe An province will take place from today until April 24th.
