National conference to find solutions to improve the quality of education for comprehensive development

The workshop took place in the context of the new Education Law being passed by the National Assembly and officially taking effect from July 1, 2020. One of the current goals of education is "to comprehensively develop Vietnamese people with ethics, knowledge, culture, health, aesthetics and profession; with qualities, capacity and civic awareness; with patriotism, national spirit and socialism; promoting the potential and creativity of each individual...".
From this concept, at the workshop, delegates had presentations discussing solutions for comprehensive human development. Accordingly, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Phu - Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Association of Psychology and Education said that "Comprehensive human development is not one-sided, crippled development. The trained children are not children who only know how to bury their heads in books, have physical disabilities, lack dynamism, lack the ability to perceive art, have limited life skills, and lack real life experience".

Regarding comprehensive human development, many questions also arise, which is what teachers must do to promote students' positivity, self-awareness, proactiveness and creativity.
Analyzing the causes, many opinions say that the development of comprehensive education is facing difficulties such as the reality of the difference in education quality between regions. In many places, facilities and equipment for teaching and learning are lacking and outdated, not meeting the requirements of teaching and learning in the period of innovation.
Speaking at the workshop, Director of Nghe An Department of Education and Training Thai Van Thanh also said: The current comprehensive development of education is extremely meaningful to create fairness in the enjoyment of education for all students, regions and areas and is the driving force for cultural, economic and social development.

The leaders of the Nghe An Department of Education and Training also proposed the issue of autonomy in public schools, that is, financial autonomy, human autonomy, and curriculum autonomy. At this workshop, Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, Chairman of the Nghe An Association of Psychology and Education gave a speech on the topic: Breakthrough solutions to improve the quality of education for general schools in the mountainous areas of Nghe An.
The article objectively assessed the shortcomings of education in the mountainous areas of Nghe An in recent years. In addition, it proposed 5 groups of solutions to improve the quality, which are raising awareness, improving the quality of teachers and managers, innovating management work, adding more policies and regimes for high schools in mountainous areas and doing a good job of coordination between schools, families and society.
