At the 7th Session, the National Assembly will work for 20 days and hold its closing session on June 14, 2019.
On the morning of May 20, the 7th session of the 14th National Assembly was solemnly opened at the National Assembly House. This is a mid-year session, so according to tradition, the National Assembly mainly focuses most of its time on law-making.

According to the scheduled program, from 7:15 a.m. on May 20, National Assembly delegates will lay wreaths and visit President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum.
Then, starting at 8amThe National Assembly held a preparatory session to discuss and approve the session agenda.At 9:00 a.m., the National Assembly held its opening session at the Dien Hong Meeting Room, National Assembly House.
The opening session of the 7th session of the 14th National Assembly was broadcast live by Voice of Vietnam, Vietnam Television, and Vietnam National Assembly Television for voters and people nationwide to follow.
According to the program, the National Assembly will work for 20 days and hold its closing session on June 14, 2019.
Of which, the time spent on law-making is about 12 days, accounting for nearly 60% of the total time of the session. The time spent on questioning and answering questions is 2.5 days; the time spent on thematic supervision and reviewing and deciding on other important issues is about 5.5 days.
At this session, the National Assembly will consider and pass 7 draft laws, 2 resolutions and give opinions on 9 other draft laws.
Regarding supreme supervision activities, the National Assembly will consider the thematic supervision report on the implementation of policies and laws on urban planning, management and land use from the time the 2013 Land Law took effect until the end of 2018. It is noteworthy that at this session, there will be innovation in reporting the results of supervision to the National Assembly in images, contributing to vividly conveying the results of thematic supervision.
The National Assembly will also consider reports on additional assessments of the results of the implementation of the socio-economic development plan and the State budget in 2018; and the implementation of the socio-economic development plan and the State budget in the first months of 2019.
The review of this report will be combined with discussion on the following contents: the use of borrowed capital, public debt management; review results and handling of responsibilities in allowing violations in the management and use of State capital and assets at enterprises and equitization of State-owned enterprises.
In addition, the National Assembly will also review and approve the 2017 State budget settlement; review and decide on adding a list of new projects to the medium-term public investment plan for the 2016-2020 period; review and approve Resolutions on the Supervision Program and the establishment of the National Assembly's Thematic Supervision Delegation in 2020.
The National Assembly will also listen to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front's report summarizing voters' and people's opinions and recommendations; report on the results of monitoring the settlement of voters' recommendations sent to the 6th session; and conduct questions and answers from the National Assembly Standing Committee..
