Today, nearly 3,000 Nghe An candidates 'race' to enter specialized schools.

This is the first time the Nghe An Department of Education and Training has applied the same exam questions to two specialized schools in the province.

In the morning, candidates will take specialized subjects including Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Informatics, Literature, History, Geography, English, French, and Russian.

This is also the first year the Department has organized an English exam for Russian language classes and adjusted the exam time for all specialized subjects to 150 minutes (instead of 120 minutes as before for Chemistry and Foreign Language classes).

In the first exam session, at the Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, the candidates entered the exam room in a quite relaxed mood.

Candidate Nguyen Thuy Linh - Le Loi Secondary School, who took the exam for the French specialized class, said: Our exam room only had 1 candidate from Hermann Gmeiner High School, the rest were students from Le Loi Secondary School. This is also a specialized class with a fairly low registration rate, so we are not too worried.

In the 2019 entrance exam to Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, there were 1,254 applications. Of which, the English specialized class had the largest number of applications with 224 applications. Next, the Chemistry specialized class had the second largest number of applications with 181 applications, followed by the Literature specialized class with 166 applications, the Physics specialized class with 156 applications, the Math specialized class with 153 applications and the Biology specialized class with 129 applications.

In the remaining specialized classes, the Russian specialized class has 54 applications; the French, History, and Geography specialized classes have 28 - 47 applications.

At Vinh University High School for the Gifted, this year the school has nearly 1,500 applications and the most concentrated is still the English specialized class with 515 applications. The remaining classes, Chemistry specialized have 216 applications, Physics specialized have 183 applications, Biology specialized have 104 applications, IT specialized first choice has 112 applications, second choice has 155 applications, Math specialized has 206 applications and Literature specialized has 198 applications.

This year, the examination councils did not hold an opening ceremony. After gathering in the examination room, the candidates were informed by the invigilators about the examination regulations and reminded of the things candidates should pay attention to when taking the exam, to avoid making mistakes that could affect the results.
