According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, currently (February 23), the cold air mass has been reported to have approached the northern border region.

Forecast: Early this morning (February 23), this cold air mass will affect the northeastern provinces. This evening and tonight it will affect the North Central region and some places in the Northwest, then affect some places in the Central Central region.

Due to the influence of cold air, there will be widespread rain in the North and North Central regions. From tomorrow (February 24), the Central Central provinces will have rain, some places will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms. The wind inland will change to northeast level 2-3, coastal areas level 3-4.

The mountainous and midland areas of the North will be cold, with some places experiencing severe cold. The provinces in the Northern Delta and North Central regions will turn cold from tonight, with the lowest temperatures commonly ranging from 14-17oC, in mountainous areas 11-14oC, and in high mountainous areas below 10oC.

It will rain in Hanoi; from tonight the weather will turn cold with the lowest temperature at night and early morning generally being 14-16oC.

In the Gulf of Tonkin and the North East Sea (including the waters of the Hoang Sa archipelago), there will be strong northeast winds of level 5, later increasing to level 6, gusting to level 7-8; rough seas. Waves will be 1.5-3.0m high. Disaster risk level: level 1.
