Today the National Assembly elected the Vice Chairman of the National Defense and Security Council.

On April 11, the National Assembly completed the dismissal of a number of members of the National Election Council and the National Defense and Security Council, and completed the personnel for these positions.

Before the closing session of the 11th session of the 13th National Assembly, the National Assembly Standing Committee reported the results of the delegation's discussion on the dismissal of a number of Vice Chairmen and members of the National Election Council and the National Defense and Security Council.

After the National Assembly approves the proposal of the Chairman of the National Election Council and the President, the list of nominees for replacement candidates will be submitted to the National Assembly.

Delegates will discuss in groups before voting by secret ballot to approve the proposal of the Chairman of the National Election Council and the National Defense and Security Council on the list of a number of Vice Chairmen and replacement members.

Previously, on the afternoon of April 9,President Tran Dai Quang presented to the National Assembly for approval the dismissal of three members of the National Defense and Security Council, including Vice President Nguyen Tan Dung and two members Nguyen Sinh Hung and Phung Quang Thanh.

The National Defense and Security Council at the beginning of its term (2011) was chaired by President Truong Tan Sang, with Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung as Vice Chairman and members including Nguyen Sinh Hung, Phung Quang Thanh, Tran Dai Quang and Pham Binh Minh.

Chairwoman of the National Election Council Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan submitted to the National Assembly for approval the dismissal of two Vice Chairmen and12 members. Specifically:

2. Ms. Nguyen Thi Doan, former Vice President

Commissioner:

1. Mr. Tran Dai Quang, President

2. Mr. Huynh Ngoc Son, former Vice Chairman of the National Assembly

4. Mr. Ngo Van Du, former Head of the Central Inspection Commission

5. Mr. Phung Quang Thanh, former Minister of Defense

6. Ms. Nguyen Thi Nuong, former Head of the Delegation Affairs Committee
