Youth Union members take the lead in ensuring traffic safety

In order to raise awareness and change the awareness of union members, youth, students and pupils on ensuring traffic order and safety, the Youth Festival with Traffic Culture in 2019 has made an important contribution to ensuring traffic order and safety in the province.

Speaking at the festival, Comrade Nguyen Thi Thom - Acting Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union called on union members and young people to promote their exemplary role and take the lead in implementing traffic safety laws.

Youth union members need to raise awareness of traffic law compliance, have standard and civilized behavior when participating in traffic to join hands to prevent, repel and minimize traffic accidents, ensure political security and social order.

Promoting traffic culture propaganda among youth

Speaking at the event, Mr. Hoang Phu Hien - Director of the Department of Transport, Deputy Head of the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee, said that the current situation of traffic law violations among teenagers is becoming more and more complicated and difficult to control.

Statistics show that drivers who cause traffic accidents are between 16 and 26 years old, accounting for more than 40%. This group is easily agitated, and has limited traffic awareness, leading to violations of traffic safety laws.

To combat the above problem, youth organizations need to step up the dissemination of traffic safety laws, especially in rural, remote and isolated areas. At the same time, youth organizations at all levels need to step up coordination with social forces to turn the campaign “Youth with traffic culture” into a widespread mass movement throughout the province.

In particular, each youth union member will be an active propagandist, conveying their thoughts, perceptions and actions to those around them.

With the theme "Traffic safety for passengers and motorcyclists", the 2019 "Youth with traffic culture" festival also has many meaningful activities such as a painting contest to propagate traffic safety and order with the participation of 71 students from primary and secondary schools in Vinh city; a parade to propagate traffic safety laws; a collective Flashmob dance with the participation of more than 700 union members and youths...

At the festival, the Organizing Committee officially launched the first "Traffic Safety Proposal Ideas" contest in Nghe An province in 2019. The contest took place from September and the award ceremony is expected to be held in November 2019.
