More than 1.3 million signatures support Mr. Putin's candidacy for Russian president
(Baonghean.vn) - Co-chair of the Russian Presidential Election Headquarters Maryana Lysenko told reporters that more than 1.3 million signatures have been collected in support of incumbent head of state Vladimir Putin's candidacy for President in the 2024 election.

"We have collected more than 1.3 million signatures in support of Vladimir Putin, our candidate for President of Russia. The collection of signatures in support of Putin began on December 23 last year and will continue until the end of January this year. Volunteers began sending the collected documents to the central headquarters on December 30, where they were checked and processed by law enforcement before being counted by volunteers. The effort to collect signatures will continue and we hope that this number will increase," Lysenko said.
On January 8, signatures from 13 regions of the country were delivered to the official election headquarters in Gostiny Dvor, Moscow. Previously, volunteers had delivered signatures from 45 regions to the headquarters.
Under Russian law, a self-nominated candidate must collect 300,000 signatures to register as a candidate for the election, with no more than 7,500 signatures from each region. The deadline for submitting signatures to the Russian Central Election Commission is January 31.
The Russian presidential election will be held from March 15-17, 2024.
