More than 10 thousand new businesses established in the first month of 2021

According to a recently released report by the General Statistics Office (Ministry of Planning and Investment), the total newly registered and additional registered capital of enterprises in the economy in January 2021 was 395.1 trillion VND, up 10.5% over the same period last year.

In January 2021, the whole country had nearly 10.1 thousandNew business establishmentwith registered capital of 155.1 trillion VND and registered number of employees of 115.9 thousand employees, an increase of 21.9% in the number of enterprises, an increase of 25.9% in registered capital and an increase of 37.2% in the number of employees compared to the same period in 2020.

Data ofGeneral Statistics Officeshows that the average registered capital of a newly established enterprise in the month reached 15.4 billion VND, an increase of 3.2% over the same period last year. If including 240 trillion VND of additional registered capital of 4,015 enterprises registering to increase capital, the total registered capital added to the economy in January 2021 was 395.1 trillion VND, an increase of 10.5% over the same period in 2020.

In addition, 6,503 enterprises returned to operation, down 23.2% over the same period last year, bringing the total number of newly established enterprises and enterprises returning to operation in January 2021 to 16,594 enterprises, down 0.9% over the same period last year.

Also in the first month of this year, there were 25,752 enterprises temporarily suspending business, ceasing operations pending dissolution procedures and completing dissolution procedures, up 36.4% over the same period last year, including: 18,055 enterprises temporarily suspending business, up 54.3%; 5,602 enterprises ceasing operations pending dissolution procedures, up 0.8%; 2,095 enterprises completing dissolution procedures, up 29.2%./.
