(Baonghean.vn) - Dien Van, Dien Chau is one of the localities with a long-standing tradition of salt production and trading. However, in recent years, salt production has decreased due to a lack of investment in salt production infrastructure, and many salt fields have been abandoned.

To alleviate difficulties in salt production and preserve this traditional local craft, the State has invested in infrastructure for the salt industry here, mainly building water intake canals and internal road systems to help salt farmers increase the value of their salt production.

Mr. Hoang Ngoc Bien, Chairman of Van Salt CooperativeSouth, Dien Van communeAccording to reports, the commune has a total salt production area of 67 hectares, including the Van Salt Cooperative.MaleThe area covers 51 hectares. For a long time, the infrastructure for salt production has been particularly difficult. The canal system has been silted up, causing many salt production areas to lack water. Not to mention the lack of internal field transportation; farmers mainly have to use human labor to carry salt on their backs or transport it by wheelbarrow to the shore for sale. The comprehensive upgrading of the infrastructure will help farmers increase the value of their salt production.
