More than 2.6 billion VND to support families of martyrs in 2021

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of January 20, the Provincial Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs held a conference to review activities in 2021 and deploy tasks for 2022. Attending were representatives of relevant departments, branches and sectors and members of the Association's Executive Committee.

In 2021, with the support of units and businesses inside and outside the province, the Association mobilized more than 2.6 billion VND, supporting the construction of 23 gratitude houses, exceeding 183% of the plan; supporting cemetery upgrades, giving savings books to martyrs' relatives... Individuals and members of the Association donated 1,750 gifts worth nearly 900 million VND to give Tet gifts to martyrs' relatives and poor households in difficulty.

In addition, the Association, together with provincial leaders and organizations, carried out activities to commemorate the War Invalids and Martyrs Day, carefully transported the remains of martyrs; Actively and responsibly participated and contributed to the work of preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic. The Association has contributed to spreading the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source" and "Repaying gratitude" of the nation widely in the community...

In 2022, the Association plans to mobilize 1.2 - 1.5 billion VND to support the construction of gratitude houses for families of martyrs and give nearly 500 gifts to the beneficiaries.

Actively detect remaining cases of policy beneficiaries and meritorious people to coordinate in guiding declarations, supplementing and completing dossiers, helping meritorious people to fully enjoy preferential policies of the State. Further promote activities to support relatives of martyrs in searching for information and identifying martyrs' remains...

On this occasion, 16 groups and individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs. Based on the achieved results, the Association discussed and agreed on targets, solutions and activities to be implemented in 2022 and programs to celebrate the 75th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day.
