Over 20,000 children have received support from the Children's Protection Fund.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of June 15th, the Nghe An Children's Protection Fund held its 2015 Board of Trustees meeting, chaired by Mr. Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Nghe An Provincial Children's Protection Fund.

Overview of the conference.

In 2014, the Children's Protection Fund, through various activities, mobilized over 20 billion VND, reaching 226% of the plan, and supported more than 20,000 children, reaching 200% of the plan. Specifically, the Fund supported surgeries for 350 children with various disabilities; organized numerous medical check-ups and screenings for children with disabilities, eye diseases, dental problems, and heart conditions; provided milk continuously for 3 months to 772 children at 11 children's care facilities in the province; awarded 560 scholarships and 520 bicycles to underprivileged children with excellent academic achievements; and donated 500 life vests to students in riverside areas.

The fund also collaborated with various levels of government and localities to organize the distribution of over 2,000 Tet (Lunar New Year) gifts and 5,000 Christmas gifts to disadvantaged children, combined with organizing cultural and recreational activities for underprivileged children on occasions such as International Children's Day and Mid-Autumn Festival. In addition, activities supporting nutrition, education, child protection, and children's right to participation were also effectively implemented.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Minh, Director of the Nghe An Provincial Children's Protection Fund, announced the decision to reorganize the Fund's Board of Trustees and approved the Fund's operating regulations.

At the conference, members of the Children's Protection Fund's Board of Trustees contributed many ideas on strengthening the Fund's communication efforts; introducing and promoting the Fund's activities to sponsors; strengthening connections between sponsoring organizations and specific cases; and coordinating efforts to improve the capacity and quality of the Fund's staff at all levels.

Comrade Tran Van Hung, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Nghe An Newspaper, delivered a speech, emphasizing the need to diversify communication methods and mobilize support from organizations, individuals, and businesses.

In 2015, the Children's Protection Fund aimed to raise 10 billion VND to directly support approximately 15,000 children in special and difficult circumstances, based on four groups of rights: the right to survival; the right to protection; the right to development; and the right to participation.

Mr. Nguyen Bang Toan - Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, and Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Children's Protection Fund - delivered a speech at the conference.

Highlighting the activities of the Children's Protection Fund's Board of Trustees in 2015, Mr. Le Xuan Dai, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, requested the Fund to continue innovating its support and fundraising methods to leverage the support of domestic and foreign businesses. He also urged the Fund to continue maintaining the effective activities implemented in 2014, such as heart surgery, mobility disability support, and programs for children's smiles, striving to ensure that more and more children benefit from these charitable programs. In particular, the Fund should develop a specific plan based on the actual needs of the locality and the goals of donors, contributing to poverty reduction and social welfare in the province.
