More than 200 athletes participate in the 2023 National Sepak Takraw Championship
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of October 20, at the Nghe An Sports Training and Competition Center, the Vietnam Sepak Takraw Federation coordinated with the Nghe An Department of Culture and Sports to organize the opening ceremony of the 2023 National Sepak Takraw Championship.
The National Sepak Takraw Championship is a competition in the national competition system, held annually in localities across the country. This year, Nghe An is the locality authorized by the Department of Sports and Physical Training, Sepak Takraw Federation to organize.
The tournament had more than 200 athletes from 13 units with developed sepak takraw movement in the country, including: Hanoi, Bac Giang, Da Nang, Yen Bai, Thanh Hoa, Dong Nai, Soc Trang, Vinh Long, Dong Thap, Thua Thien - Hue, Nghe An, Ho Chi Minh City and People's Public Security.
This is a meaningful sports event to continue promoting the campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho" and the movement "Healthy to build a career and defend the country".
The tournament is also an opportunity for localities to evaluate the quality of selection and training of high-performance athletes and for the Department of Physical Training and Sports and the Vietnam Sepak Takraw Federation to continue selecting outstanding athletes to form the national team to participate in regional and world tournaments.
