More than 24,000 Nghe An candidates registered for the contest 'Light to illuminate the path'

(Baonghean.vn) - After a week of launching, Nghe An has had over 24,256 registered candidates and 15,583 candidates participating in the contest 'Light to illuminate the path' and is currently the unit with the 4th highest number of candidates participating in the contest nationwide.

The 2nd National Olympic Competition on Marxist-Leninist Science and Ho Chi Minh Thought with the theme "Light to the Path" in 2017, coordinated by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Central Propaganda Department and the Ministry of Education and Training, was held from March to May 2017 and was divided into 2 groups: Individual Group and Team Group, with a combination of online competition on the Internet and dramatization.

The purpose of the contest is to strengthen the education of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh's ideology, thereby raising political awareness and fostering revolutionary ideals for union members and young people at school; creating a playground for union members and young people to exchange experiences in learning and studying Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh's ideology; applying Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh's ideology to study, work, life and self-improvement.

The Organizing Committee will award prizes weekly based on the highest scores of the contestants saved on the website system. After 1 week of implementation (from March 5 to March 16, 2017), Nghe An province had over 24,256 registered contestants and 15,583 contestants took the exam out of a total of 80,000 students, reaching a participation rate of 19.5%. Nghe An is currently the unit with the 4th highest number of contestants nationwide.

The Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee requested units to commit to mobilizing 80% of students to know, learn about and participate in the Contest seriously; at the same time, it is necessary to pay attention to and improve the technical and computer systems so that candidates can easily log in and take the exam.

The contest is a practical activity of the youth to implement Directive 05-CT/TW of the Politburo on "Promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle" and Directive 42-CT/TW of the Central Party Secretariat on "Strengthening the Party's leadership in educating revolutionary ideals, morality and cultural lifestyle for the young generation in the period 2015 - 2030"; participating in Resolution 4 of the 12th Central Committee.

On this occasion, the Provincial Youth Union awarded certificates of merit to 1 collective and 4 individuals for their outstanding achievements in week 1 of the 2nd "Light to Illuminate the Way" Contest.
