More than 3 million cheap flight tickets for Tet holiday are available online

Three airlines Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet and Jetstar said they have opened ticket sales for the 2018 Lunar New Year on all domestic and international routes.

The trend of booking Tet flight tickets is getting earlier and earlier. This year, before the 15th of August, all three domestic airlines have announced the opening of Tet ticket sales. Opening early is expected to help passengers buy tickets at more affordable prices, avoiding shortages; at the same time, airlines can balance supply and demand and prepare to adjust to increase capacity, if necessary.

Specifically, from September 27, Vietnam Airlines and Jetstar Pacific began selling flight tickets for the 2018 Lunar New Year on all domestic routes.

During the period from January 31, 2018 to March 2, 2018 (ie from December 15 to January 15), Vietnam Airlines will provide more than 1.4 million seats on the entire domestic network, an increase of more than 127,700 seats (equivalent to 694 flights) compared to the same period.

Jetstar Pacific also opened for sale nearly 540,000 seats to serve the increased passenger demand during this period.

Meanwhile, Vietjet Air also said it has launched more than 1.22 million "shockingly priced" tickets from 0 VND (excluding taxes and fees) at noon on September 27-29 (from 12:00 to 14:00).

Domestic airlines simultaneously open ticket sales for Tet.

Promotional tickets are applied to all domestic and international routes operated by the airline to serve overseas Vietnamese and workers returning home for Tet. The period of application is from November 1, 2017 to March 31, 2018, including New Year 2018.

In press releases, airlines confirmed that they will not increase ticket prices and will continue to maintain a wide range of ticket prices with many flexible prices, or customers can still buy at economical prices; at the same time, they recommend that passengers book early to avoid ticket shortages.

This year's Lunar New Year holiday is expected to be from February 15 to February 21, 2018, or 1 week, from the 30th of Tet to the 6th of the lunar calendar.

In fact, airfares during Tet will be higher than usual due to increased travel demand. Not to mention, this year, airfares have been more expensive since October 1, when airlines started collecting airport fees and security screening fees as required by the Ministry of Transport.

According to calculations, the total additional cost domestic passengers have to pay for a plane ticket is 30,385 VND/person.
