More than 300 images and artifacts are displayed at the exhibition 'The Fatherland's Gratitude'

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of July 24, the Political Department of Military Region 4 organized an exhibition with the theme "The Fatherland's Gratitude". This is an activity to pay tribute to heroic martyrs and people with revolutionary contributions - those who heroically sacrificed or left a part of their blood for the independence and freedom of the nation.

Attending the exhibition were comrades: Major General Tran Tien Dung - Standing Member of the Party Committee, Deputy Political Commissar of the Military Region; Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, along with representatives of martyrs' families, representatives of 70 heroes of the military region through the periods; departments, branches and organizations.

During the resistance wars, Military Region 4 was both the frontline and the rear, providing human and material support to battlefields at home and abroad. It was a land rich in revolutionary traditions but also the place that suffered the most sacrifices and losses due to the consequences of war.

Millions of people enthusiastically joined the frontline militia, self-defense forces, and youth volunteers. Of these, over 1.3 million young people enlisted in combat units on the battlefield.

At the end of the war, there were 177,130 martyrs; 162,424 wounded soldiers; 40,429 sick soldiers; 53,542 people infected with Agent Orange; 14,348 Heroic Vietnamese Mothers and 399 People's Armed Forces Heroes...

The war has long gone but its severe consequences are still there, so with more than 300 images and artifacts on display, the exhibition is an opportunity to introduce the most basic content to cadres, soldiers and people to see the attention of the Party, Uncle Ho and our State to the work of war invalids and martyrs, and people with meritorious services to the revolution.

At the same time, educate cadres and soldiers, especially the younger generation, to understand more deeply the great contributions and sacrifices of martyrs, wounded soldiers, heroic Vietnamese mothers, and meritorious people in the military region during the wars.

On the occasion of the exhibition, many martyrs’ relatives also donated their relics to the Military Region 4 Museum for preservation and display. The exhibition will take place over 10 days, including Saturdays and Sundays (from July 24 to August 4).
