More than 400 international reporters came to cover the 49th AMM Conference in Laos
More than 400 international reporters from 71 news agencies around the world have registered to cover the 49th ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting (AMM 49) and related meetings, which will be held in Laos from July 21-26.

Japan is the country with the largest number of reporters registered to cover the above events, followed by South Korea, China and reporters from ASEAN countries. Major world news agencies such as AP and Reuters also registered to cover the events.
At a press conference exclusively for Lao reporters on July 16, the Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the 49th AMM will open at the Donchan Palace Hotel in the capital Vientiane on July 24 with the participation of Lao Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith.
The 49th AMM will discuss issues discussed at the ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Retreat held in February 2016 in Vientiane; discuss ways to strengthen the ASEAN Community's cohesion, including the implementation of the ASEAN Political-Security Community Blueprint 2025; discuss the work of the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights in 2016 and preparations for other related conferences.
In addition, the ministers will also discuss regional and international issues of mutual concern.
In addition to the 49th AMM, a series of related conferences will also take place in the capital Vientiane, including the Southeast Asia Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zone Committee Meeting; the Foreign Ministers' Meeting with partners; the 17th ASEAN+3 Foreign Ministers' Meeting; the 6th East Asia Summit (EAS) Foreign Ministers' Meeting and the 23rd ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF).
On this occasion, ASEAN Foreign Ministers are expected to meet with their counterparts from dialogue partners and external partners of ASEAN to assess and orient cooperation in the coming time./.
