More than 50 billion VND to reinforce the landslide-affected railway along Lam River
(Baonghean.vn) - On July 15, Mr. Nguyen Hong Ky, Director of the Department of Transport of Nghe An province, said that the Ministry of Transport has just sent a document to the General Department of Railways, agreeing to spend 50.4 billion VND for the urgent reinforcement project of 700m of landslide along the Lam River.
The section of the North-South railway along the Lam River (through Nam Cuong Commune, Nam Dan District, Nghe An Province) has suffered serious erosion in recent years due to river encroachment. The reinforcement of the section is aimed at ensuring the safety of the North-South railway during the 2014 flood season.
