Over 50 billion VND spent on reinforcing railway lines damaged by landslides along the Lam River.
(Baonghean.vn) - On July 15th, Mr. Nguyen Hong Ky, Director of the Department of Transport of Nghe An province, announced that the Ministry of Transport had sent a document to the General Department of Railways, agreeing to allocate 50.4 billion VND for the urgent reinforcement project of 700m of eroded riverbank along the Lam River.
The section of the North-South railway along the Lam River (passing through Nam Cuong commune, Nam Dan district, Nghe An province) has suffered serious erosion in recent years due to river encroachment. Reinforcing this section aims to ensure the safety of the North-South railway line during the 2014 rainy season.

The Ministry of Transport assigned the General Department of Railways as the project's investor, applying the direct contracting method for consulting and construction packages, ensuring quality and timely completion.
