(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of April 5th, a large number of people in Vinh City participated in a voluntary blood donation event. This activity, commemorating the "National Voluntary Blood Donation Day on April 7th," was organized by the Provincial Blood Donation Campaign Steering Committee in coordination with the Vinh City Red Cross Society.
With the messages "Donate blood to save lives – Please don't be indifferent"; "Donate blood to save lives – A noble act"; "Blood saves lives – Starting with managers!", this year's voluntary blood donation event attracted over 300 officials, civil servants, youth union members, and 200 volunteers from universities and colleges in the city. In addition, the Provincial Hematology Center received hundreds of applications for voluntary blood donation from citizens at the event and will proceed with blood collection in the coming days.
The blood donation event commemorating "National Voluntary Blood Donation Day" is one of four major annual blood donation drives organized by the Provincial Blood Donation Campaign Steering Committee, alongside the Spring Red Festival, the Red Journey, and "World Blood Donor Day" on April 16th. The enthusiastic response from the people of Vinh City participating in voluntary blood donation demonstrates the noble and practical significance of the beautiful act of "every drop of blood given saves a life," which is increasingly spreading throughout the community.
