Mazda has just announced a recall of more than 60,000 Mazda6 sedans due to wiring problems in the power steering system and airbags.
According to the recall notice published by the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the welds under the front passenger seat of the vehicle may be so rusted that the sensor wire in this area may be affected by rubbing, causing an electrical short.

The Mazda6 vehicles subject to this recall were manufactured between November 3, 2014 and December 9, 2015. There have been no reports of loss of control, accidents or injuries related to this defect.
To fix this error, Mazda will notify all car owners on September 29, along with a protective pad on the seat frame. If the wiring harness has been damaged, the company's technicians will wrap it with insulating tape to prevent abrasion./.
