More than 7 years in prison for 2 teenage perverts

(Baonghean.vn) - The People's Court sentenced Nguyen Van Lam to 5 years in prison and Duong Van Thang to 2 years and 6 months in prison. Both defendants compensated the victim a total of more than 29 million VND.

Tan Ky District People's Court has just opened the first instance trial of the criminal case against the defendants Nguyen Van Lam (born 1998) and Duong Van Thang (born 1999), both residing in Hong Ky hamlet, Nghia Phuc commune, Tan Ky district, for the crime of "Raping a minor from 16 to under 18 years old".

According to the indictment, at about 5:00 p.m. on January 13, 2017, at the sugarcane garden in Hong Ky hamlet, Nghia Phuc commune, Tan Ky district, when Lam discovered NTĐ riding an electric bicycle out of Mr. Truong Van Phong's house, he had the intention of raping her and dragged Thang along.

To achieve his goal, Duong Van Thang lured D to cross a section of the road, then Nguyen Van Lam signaled Thang to stop the car. They dragged D into the sugarcane field, Thang controlled and gagged NTĐ so that Nguyen Van Lam could "rape" her.

Although D screamed and asked Lam and Thang to let him go, D fiercely resisted, biting Lam's hand and grabbing Thang's hair, but they still did not let him go.

Lam and Thang's confessions were consistent with the victim's testimony, witness testimony and other evidence in the case file that was publicly proven at the trial.

Based on the copy of the birth certificate dated June 25, 2006, NTĐ was born on January 9, 2001, and was 'raped' by Nguyen Van Lam and Duong Van Thang on January 13, 2017. NTĐ was only 16 years and 4 days old. Therefore, there is enough basis to conclude that Nguyen Van Lam and Duong Van Thang committed the crime of "Raping a minor from 16 years old to under 18 years old".

The criminal acts of Nguyen Van Lam and Duong Van Thang are very serious for society, infringing on the dignity and honor of D, negatively affecting local social order and security, and causing outrage among the masses./.
