More than 8,000 Nghe An youths joined the peak day of the 2023 Green March Campaign

(Baonghean.vn) - Under the direction of the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee, on July 16, more than 8,000 Nghe An youths simultaneously launched the peak day of the Green March Campaign with many meaningful activities, showing gratitude to families of policy beneficiaries, wounded and sick soldiers, beautifying the environment, and responding to climate change.

The peak day of the "Green March" volunteer campaign was deployed by Youth Union chapters at all levels across the province with the aim of organizing activities to promote the role of youth in digital transformation; beautifying the environmental landscape, responding to climate change; helping people; and caring for students in difficult circumstances.

In particular, towards the 76th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2023), the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee and Youth Union chapters at all levels across the province visited, encouraged, and presented gifts to war invalids, sick soldiers, and policy families, expressing the deep gratitude of the young generation for the revolutionary cause of the previous generation.

For provincial activities, Comrade Nguyen Thi Phuong Thuy - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union visited and presented gifts to policy families in Vinh city. At the same time, she joined the Provincial Police Youth Union to organize activities: instructing on activating electronic identification, organizing a gratitude meal at the Nghe An War Invalids Nursing Center and the Nghe An Mental Health War Invalids Nursing Area (Nghi Phong commune, Nghi Loc district).

At the grassroots level, soldiers in green uniforms have coordinated with local youth to simultaneously go to villages, hamlets, remote areas to participate in volunteer activities. Many meaningful projects and tasks have been carried out such as propaganda, guidance, support for people to install, activate and use the VNeID application; free medical examination, consultation, and medicine distribution; social security activities; building houses for poor households and families in difficult circumstances.

As a result of the peak day of the campaign, the youth of the whole province:

Total resources to implement activities amount to more than700million dong

The campaign has clearly identified specific projects and tasks associated with the socio-economic development tasks of each locality, ensuring social security, national defense and security. Thereby, strengthening solidarity, gathering youth, consolidating and improving the quality and affirming the position and role of the Youth Union in the armed forces.
