Over 96% of voters in Nghe An province agree to the plan to merge communes.
According to the compiled results of voter opinions on the reorganization of commune-level administrative units in Nghe An province, 96.1% of voters agreed with the commune merger plan.

The voting results at the People's Council (HĐND) sessions also showed a high rate of consensus: 96.24% at the commune level and 95.53% at the district level.
Currently, Nghe An province has 412 commune-level administrative units, including 362 communes, 33 wards, and 17 towns. The proposed reorganization plan is expected to reduce the number of commune-level administrative units to 130, a reduction of 282 units (equivalent to 68.45%). Specifically, the province will have 11 wards and 119 communes remaining.
This afternoon, April 28th, at the 28th session (Special Session), the Nghe An Provincial People's Council will consider, discuss, and approve a Resolution on the policy of rearranging commune-level administrative units in Nghe An province in 2025.
After the Provincial People's Council approves it, the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee will prepare the dossier for the 2025 administrative unit reorganization plan at the commune level and submit it to the Government before May 1, 2025. Based on that, the Ministry of Interior will appraise and prepare the Government's dossier to submit to the National Assembly Standing Committee for consideration and approval before May 30, 2025.
