Director Bui Thac Chuyen won the Best Director award at the 23rd Vietnam Film Festival. "Glorious Ashes" won the Golden Lotus award at the film festival, won the Golden Kite award at the 2022 Kite Awards and won the highest award at the Three Continents Film Festival in France.
Director Bui Thac Chuyen also has a strong marriage that is admired by many people. He and actress Tu Oanh have been married for many years and have 3 sons.
The couple were both born in 1968 in Hanoi. Tu Oanh and Bui Thac Chuyen studied at the University of Theatre and Cinema. In their second year of university, the couple had special feelings for each other.
After 7 years of dating, they got married. Actress Tu Oanh once said about her husband: "A strict director on set but easy-going in the family, responsible and extremely trustworthy."

After giving birth to her first child, due to financial difficulties, actress Tu Oanh worked at the Youth Theater and as an administrative staff to support her husband. The actress opened a photo studio, a fashion store, and also worked as a makeup artist and bridal beautician...

Tu Oanh has been absent from the small screen for 16 years. When her children grew up and her finances were stable, she returned to acting. 2021 marks Tu Oanh's return to the small screen with the role of Mrs. Bich in "The Taste of Love".
