The new generation Honda CB1000R returns to classic style
Honda's legendary model has a major change in style, replacing the fierce look with a nostalgic look while upgrading many important details.
The Japanese car company introduced the 2018 CB1000R at the EICMA motorcycle show (Milan, Italy) with the appearance of Mick Doohan, who has won the MotoGP 500cc class five times in a row.
First introduced in 2007, the CB1000R is the street-legal version of the CBR1000RR superbike. The new generation changes styling, increases performance and aims to complement the growing Super Naked segment, although the styling is more subdued than the current generation.

The appearance of the CB1000R 2018 makes a difference compared to most sports cars on the market. Besides, the elegant paint color, smooth and neat lines, horseshoe-shaped LED headlights help enhance the classic design.
The alloy wheels not only fit the new style, but also the larger rear tire. The 180/55 tire has been replaced by a 190/55. Honda has also increased the height and width of the handlebars, giving the rider a more upright riding position, making everyday riding more comfortable.

A new steel frame and aluminum swingarm are other features of the 2018 CB1000R. The frame material helps reduce weight by nearly 2.5 kg compared to the current generation. The new single-sided swingarm reduces the length, while the wheelbase increases slightly. New Showa forks and Showa rear shock are both adjustable.
The 2018 Honda CB1000R also enters a new era with a series of new electronic systems. The vehicle has 4 driving modes including Standard, Sport, Rain and User (a customizable option). The Japanese automaker also provides customers with the ability to customize 3 levels of engine power, engine braking and traction control.
The new generation CB1000R still uses the 998cc engine of the old generation CB1000RR, although with some upgrades. Honda engineers kept the bore and piston stroke of the inline 4-cylinder DOHC engine the same but increased the compression ratio from 11.2:1 to 11.6:1. The pistons were also reinforced for increased rigidity.

New 4-2-1 exhaust design. Dual-channel ABS brakes are standard. And all the changes help the 2018 CB1000R lose nearly 8.2 kg compared to the current generation.
The new generation Honda CB1000R is expected to be available in showrooms in summer 2018; the price has not been announced yet.
