Honda Civic 2108 diesel engine promises super fuel economy

The European market favors diesel engine versions because of their fuel-efficient features, so car manufacturers often produce additional diesel engines for their car models, and the Honda Civic is no exception.

According to the Japanese automaker, this Honda Civic uses a 1.6 L i-DTEC diesel engine that can produce 120 horsepower and a maximum torque of 300 Nm. This 1.6L i-DTEC diesel engine has a new NSC exhaust gas conversion system to reduce NOx emissions. In addition to updating the engine, Honda has significantly improved the exhaust system to increase the vehicle's power.

The car's acceleration is not too "fierce" but is still remarkable when it can run from 0-100 km/h in 10.4 seconds. However, the car's fuel consumption is quite good, only consuming 3.7 liters/100 km. It also ensures environmental friendliness with a CO2 emission index of 99 g/km.

Honda has not yet announced the price or details of the Honda Civic diesel version, only that the diesel engine will be available on the 4-door and 5-door versions of this model, at least in the UK from March 2018.
